Rumor: Razer Is Looking To Buy Struggling OUYA To Bolster Its Android Gaming Efforts

There hasn't been much news out of OUYA for the last year or so, and Razer's first effort at mobile hardware, the Android TV-powered Forge TV, hasn't exactly been lighting the world on fire either. Would combining forces make either of these products better? Probably not. But according to a recent post on TechCrunch, at least someone thinks it might be a good idea.

TechCrunch reports that premium game accessory maker Razer is interested in purchasing OUYA, or at least what's left of it now that the "mini console" fad has come and gone.

Opera For Android Updated With Speed Dial Syncing And Native Text Selection In Version 30

About three weeks ago the beta version of Opera for Android added a handful of new features. Today most of them graduate to the standard version, marked as v30.0.1856 on my phone. The biggest change (at least according to Opera's official blog) is that the sites saved to the "speed dial" homepage will sync across Android and desktop versions of Opera. That's provided, of course, that you're logged into your Opera account on all devices.

Neo Smartpen N2 Review: A Sleek, Viable Option For Making Your Notes Digital Without Ditching Pen And Paper

The Neo Smartpen N2 is the company's second shot at an intelligent analog writer and this one comes with very few compromises. In a market without a whole lot of competition, especially for those who support Android, Neo's N2 needs to be on your radar if you want a smartpen. I've been testing it out for a couple of weeks and, on the whole, I am really excited about it. With that said, it does have a few drawbacks that you will want to think through before deciding to buy.

This is the second smartpen I've reviewed for Android Police. The first is the Livescribe 3, whose review you can see here.

[Update: Winners] Win One Of TYLT's New 4.8 Amp RIBBN Car Chargers From TYLT And Android Police

Look, there isn't much exciting about car chargers that we haven't already seen before. I get it. But you know what? There's always a way to take something that's existed for a while and make it better, which is precisely what TYLT has done with its newest car charger, RIBBN.

If you've ever seen another TYLT car charger before, then RIBBN probably looks familiar to you - it's aesthetically very similar to the company's existing charger, BAND. But that's pretty much where the similarities end, because RIBBN is like BAND on steroids. It's a dual-port 4.8 Amp charger that can make easy work of charging two devices at once, all while providing the full power required to quickly charge both simultaneously.

Huawei Watch Reportedly Delayed Until Late Q3 Or Early Q4

A new report claims that Huawei has pushed back the release of the Huawei Watch until September or October. Of course, there was never an official launch date for the watch, but that's much later than everyone was expecting. The reason cited in the report for the delay is "incompatibility issues with Android Wear." That could mean any number of things.

[Deal Alert] Compact KMASHI 10000mAh External Battery Under $10 On Amazon After Coupon

External battery packs provide backup power, but with the way some phones routinely die every evening, you may come to depend on one as a regular source of supplemental energy instead. In such an instance, it helps to pick up one of the smaller options available. It's also nice if you can get one for under $10.

Fortunately, we've come across a KMASHI 10000mAh power bank that scratches both itches. It's going for $14 on Amazon, but if you enter the coupon code GOQL7EVL at checkout, you can drop $4.50 off the price. That leaves you paying just $9.50 for a battery you can carry around in your pocket, backpack, or purse.

Upcoming SHIELD Android TV Update Will Add MPEG-2 Codec Support For HDHomeRun Compatibility

More codecs are always better, especially if you're talking about a device that's (arguably) primarily for watching video. Android TV will get MPEG-2 support when the Android M build comes out - in fact you can check it out right now if you have a Nexus Player - but apparently NVIDIA doesn't want to wait. According to this forum post, an update to the new SHIELD Android TV will enable MPEG-2 codec support within a month.

Why MPEG-2 in particular? Apparently NVIDIA wants to add support for the popular HDHomeRun series of network-connected digital TV turners, which outputs directly in MPEG-2.

[APK Teardown] Camera v2.5 Is Preparing A New "Smart Burst" Feature That Automatically Picks The Best Photos It Has Taken

Google's Camera app isn't exactly feature-rich, at least not when it is compared to alternatives offered by OEMs and many independent developers. Of course, that may be one of the reasons it is fairly popular – the interface remains simple and the features that did make it in, like Photospheres, are pretty cool. After looking through the latest update, it looks like Google is working toward another major feature addition called Smart Burst, and it might just become the best way to take photos of your friends.
