With over 50 million downloads and almost a million 5-star ratings, Temple Run has set the bar rather high for its successor, Temple Run 2.

As is the case with most successful games, the basic premise of Temple Run 2 is the same as the original: you're in possession of an idol that's been stolen from an ancient temple, which has angered a particularly murderous monkey who wants to get it back.

If you've got a decent gaming PC and you haven't tried Hawken, you really should give it a try. The free-to-play online shooter captures the atmosphere of a gigantic, hulking death machine in a way that doesn't have an equal, and the first-person perspective and customizable mechs make ita nice tribute to the old Mech Warrior series. And if you've already tried it and liked it, NVIDIA has a promotional live wallpaper that's right up your rusted, diesel-splattered alley.

gunbros

If there was ever a contender for mobile game with the highest mullet to tact ratio, it's Gun Bros. The top-down shooter made a splash when it released on Android in 2011, sitting atop the Market charts for months. Now it's high time for the lads of F.R.A.G.G.E.D. to head back into battle, this time in a full 3D smorgasbord of Arnold-grade action. Glu Mobile has released an early trailer for the game, and while there's no date, it should be enough to thoroughly whet the appetites of the game's current fans.

When it comes to online safety and passwords, I live and die by a password manager. I use one on my PCs, as well as my Android smartphones and tablets. This way, I always have my passwords with me, and I only have to remember one (to get into the password manager). In fact, I've never even seen some of my passwords when I use a generator.

This contest is now over.

The Nexus flood gates seem to have opened today, with both Best Buy and Wirefly not only launching their respective Nexus 4 pages, but also actually having devices in stock. And now it looks to me like Google is preparing a fresh batch of the sought-after sold out devices, as all "Sold Out" product pages were switched to say "Temporarily Out of Stock" a few minutes ago.

Call me crazy, but I don't think this is simply a meaningless change in wording.

We know, we know - the Nexus 4 is still awfully hard to come by. If you haven't already rushed to your nearest Best Buy, you might want to run over to WireFly, where T-Mobile's version of the N4 is just $149.99. That's $50 less than T-Mobile's retail price, and the lowest we've ever seen for the 8GB model. The deal is good both for new contracts and 2-year renewals.

Just when you thought it couldn't go any lower, Amazon Wireless makes the Droid RAZR HD even more affordable. As long as you're willing to sign on for two years of Verizon service, that is. Amazon reduced the RAZR HD to $49 last week, but Wirefly leapfrogged Amazon to make the device free for upgrades (still $49 for new accounts). Not to be outdone, Amazon has dropped the price all the way to $19.99 on new accounts, and just $0.01 for upgrades.

Google Wallet received its first significant update in a while today, with a mildly refreshed UI, bug fixes, but no new features. In fact, as Ron points out, references to all the features we were excited about having actually been removed from the app. Like the Wallet Card, and P2P money transfers. It doesn't mean those ideas are dead, per se, but we would guess it does mean they're experiencing some delays.

Ever since Google launched the web-based Play Store, it has been iterating rapidly to improve the experience. Now that there are more apps in the store than you can shake a phone at, you're more likely to run into one with a description written in a language other than your own. With that in mind, it's pretty cool that Google has chosen to quietly deploy Google Translate in the Play Store.
