Google Evidently Testing 'Ultra Violet,' A New Hangouts Experience For Chrome

According to Florian Kiersch (who has uncovered many in-progress Google projects including Google Stars), Google is testing a new Hangouts experience for now codenamed Ultra Violet.

Kiersch says (and shows) that Ultra Violet will present significant interface changes for Hangouts, including a new Chrome extension that would introduce a floating, Chat Heads-style icon on the desktop, which users could move around freely.

Once the circle is clicked, Kiersch says, the Hangouts welcome screen would appear to introduce users to the new experience.

T-Mobile Plans August 17th Crackdown On Unlimited Data Customers Using P2P On Its Network

T-Mobile likes to call most of its plans "unlimited," but only a few of them actually have unlimited access to LTE speeds. These plans include unlimited bandwidth, but that doesn't mean you can do whatever you want. Amazon Launches Live App Testing For Developers Making Apps On The Amazon Appstore

Amazon is making it a little easier for devs to put out bug-free apps on its Android Appstore with the new Live App Testing feature. Taking advantage of this capability lets you roll an update out to a limited group of testers who hunt for bugs and send usage data back. It's a little more locked down than Google's Play Store beta program, but that might be preferable sometimes.

Google And HP Allegedly Exploring Special Google Now Functionality For Businesses
