Republic Wireless saw success with its offer of the Moto X last year, and now the carrier has made good on its promise to start selling the low-cost Moto G. For a mere $149 you can get the 8GB Moto G on Republic with no contract and cheap WiFi calling.

Republic Wireless piggybacks on the Sprint network, but augments that with WiFi calling when you're connected to a network. Unlike other VoIP solutions, Republic Wireless can hand-off a call from WiFi to cellular if you lose connection.

The Amazing Spider-Man 2 is set to hit movie theaters in a matter of weeks, but that can't happen until Gameloft releases a mobile video game adaptation first. Fortunately there's no reason to fret. The game is here, so anyone who can't wait to live vicariously through a teenager in blue and red spandex can scratch that itch right away.

The game has the Spider-Man essentials covered. There's plenty of web-slinging, fist-swinging, and wall-climbing goodness to be found here, along with 3D cutscenes, voice-acting, and the minimal amount of effort needed to secure more money from in-app purchases.

Getting too invested in a new Twitter client can be risky these days. There's always the possibility that it won't be updated with the features you want, or bugs might not get squashed to your liking. It may also be awesome and run through its 100k Twitter tokens before being abandoned. Well, Fenix for Twitter might be at least worth taking a risk on. This new app seems to get a lot of things right, and it's only a 1.0 release.

From the beginning the Chromecast has been able to handle the basics such as Netflix and YouTube. More compatibility trickled in, with services like Hulu jumping on board, and apps like BeyondPod and Flex throwing in their support. Now Chromecast icons can be found all over the place. But the offering is still weak in one area - sports. Today Chromecast is knocking that issue out of the park (at least for baseball fans) by finding its way into the MLB.com At Bat app.

Where's my water? I've been looking all over, and I'm still having a hard time finding it. I've enlisted the help of that green alligator guy, but we didn't get anywhere. I even went to Mickey Mouse, but he kept asking me for money. Now it's time to search in China with the help of the popular animated sheep Xi Yang Yang.

Some trends are awesome, and some are not so much. This one counts as the former. Android manufacturers have increasingly turned to the Play Store for distributing updates to their core Android apps. Sony's been doing this for a while now, and the Xperia Keyboard is its latest upload.

Adobe's redesigned Photoshop Express app has just gotten an update with even more new stuff. It's not the real Photoshop, but what do you expect for free? If you were expecting the real Photoshop, I don't even know what to say.

Hey, you. Yeah, you with the fancy curvaceous phone. Stop showing off that flexible frame and self-healing back, and check your settings menu. According to AT&T's blog, the LG G Flex is being updated to Android 4.4 as of today. Huzzah, excelsior, and general rejoicing abound. At least a few users over at XDA have already received the over-the-air update.

Ouya

The newest update for the Ouya game console has been made available, and it's a big one. This time the cryptozoological mascot is the infamous goat-sucker itself, the Chupacabra. It's more than a name, though. This is a notable update that addresses some of the concerns users have had about the device since launch.
