Rumor: Samsung May Be Fast Forwarding The Galaxy Note 5 Launch To Mid-August, Pre-IFA

It is customary for Samsung to launch its Note flagships each year during IFA in Berlin, sometime around the beginning of September. This year though might be different, as rumors are starting to circulate that the Note 5 could launch a little earlier than that — toward mid-August.

According to our good friend, "a person familiar with the matter," who has spoken to both Reuters and The Wall Street Journal, Samsung is planning on changing its strategy to short-circuit Apple's yearly iPhone launch.

Video game live-streaming platform Twitch had a bit of an odd day yesterday. First the Android app was updated to version 4.2, with a new feature called the Pop-Out Player as the only addition. We tried out the app to see the feature... which didn't work. But that was apparently the least of Twitch's problems, as reviews on the Play Store and posts to Twitter immediately claimed that the update had made the app crash whenever it tried to launch video.

[Deal Alert] Expansys USA Offers The 32GB International LG G Flex 2 For $329.99 ($170 Off Retail)

The LG G Flex 2 is a pretty good phone, even compared to LG's own flagship G4, and it's a great option if you're tired of all the ever-bigger screens that seem to be the current rage. It's also got a pretty decent price: US Cellular sells it for $50, AT&T sells it for $100, and Sprint is selling it for $200 at the moment, with off-contract prices ranging from reasonable at around $500 to ludicrous at over $700 (thanks, AT&T).

[Android M Feature Spotlight] Preview 2 Revamps The Memory Settings Menu User Interface

The nice thing about having a huge public beta test is that, well, you get to test stuff. Apparently the reaction to the new dedicated Memory section of the Settings menu wasn't everything that Google had hoped for, because it's been given a notable redesign in the brand-new version 2. The most striking change is a new overview screen that appears when you first tap Memory. Now it shows you the total memory in use with a readout in MB or GB, instead of breaking it down by apps.
