Bluetooth speakers come in at a variety of price points and corresponding quality levels. Some have more features, and others emphasize sound. But sometimes you see such a good deal that it almost doesn't matter what the speaker does. Woot has the Braven 600 Bluetooth speaker on sale today for just $34.99. It's a refurb, but you'll save a lot on a pretty good speaker.
We reviewed it last year and were happy with the device. Read More
The new Play Store is certainly snazzy, but a lot of the functionality of the older site has been missing ever since it got a fresh coat of digital paint. One of the most bemoaned omissions was contextual keyboard shortcuts, especially handy for touch typists whose fingers never leave the keys. (ThinkPad users, I'm looking at you.) Good news, everyone: as of late yesterday, they're back.

Talk about a blast from the past: the Sprint Galaxy S II, released way back in 2011, now has official CyanogenMod support. Most of the other international and regional versions of the GSII are already supported to some degree, but I'm sure there are more than a few Sprint customers who are happy to see the most popular custom ROM family come to their devices. There's one nightly of CM10.1 (Android 4.2) available at the time of writing. Read More
Here it is, the second installment of Android Police Files. We're still getting a steady stream of email, and while we can't post them all, we've hand-picked eight more to share with our darling readers. Maps 7.1 is slowly rolling out into the world. Google is making this teardown particularly difficult, because they haven't even gotten around to releasing a change log yet - it's up to me to come up with something. First though, we need to cover the good stuff that most definitely won't be in the change log, because this has me excited:
Remember when I found a "3D" button allll the way back in version 6.12? Read More
Just like last week's Humble Weekly Sale, there is only one Android game available in today's new bundle. This time it's McPixel, but considering the game usually costs $2.99 on Google Play, it's still worth your while to jump in on this pay-what-you-want deal. That said, this game is so, well, odd that it still might be worth trying out the free version before ponying up however much (or little) you want to contribute to this bundle. Read More
Samsung took its time getting a Qi charger out the door, but they were finally available for purchase a few weeks ago. At $49.99 it was a reasonably good deal as far as wireless chargers go, but it didn't come with a wall charger to power the device. Now the Samsung Wireless Charging Pad includes the recommended 2A charger for $10 more, but that's not the best deal as it turns out. Read More
