If you own Sprint's seemingly long-forgotten HTC EVO Design 4G, the company has some fixes coming your way via a new OTA update that started rolling out today. While the Design 4G hasn't seen any update action in well over six months, it's nice to see The Now Network's continuing support for the somewhat aging handset.

The update brings a total of three minor enhancements/fixes, including hotspot improvements when on GSM networks, faster messaging application load times, and the inclusion of the Sprint Connection Optimizer.

News aggregators. We all use (or have used) them, and there is no shortage of selections in the Play Store. Some are designed to be pretty. Some are fully customizable. Some do the customization for you. Then there's newscover, an app that essentially wants to do all of the above.

In short, newscover is a very nice looking, newspaper-esque aggregator that uses what you read to personalize your feed. The developer claims it starts "getting to know you" only five seconds after the app is opened.

In the mid 60s, a man named Harold P. Warren set out to prove that making horror films is not difficult and, with a budget of $19k and a script written on a napkin, he got to work. What followed is, far and away, one of the worst pieces of cinema ever to be recorded. Yes, worse than Gigli or Cool As Ice. You think those are bad? Amateurs. While the film not only bombed in 1966, it continues to bomb to this day.

If you've never heard of Snapchat, god! You guys are so behind the times! This app is like MMS and Mission Impossible all in one! Except it's not Mission Impossible because that's an old person show and who cares about Tom Cruise anymore? No time for watching movies when we're busy sending self-destructing pictures to each other. Set a timer on a message and, once it runs out, the recipient can no longer see your photo.

While LG has started to make its way back into the hearts and minds of the average consumer with the impressive Optimus G Pro, and its sexier cousin the Nexus 4, the company still has other market segments to worry about. This is where things like the F-series comes in handy. Today the Optimus F5 and Optimus F7 were announced and, like their keyboard-dwelling namesakes, will probably be something we're aware of, but rarely pay too much attention to, despite their usefulness.

Sometimes Long-Term Evolution wireless is presented as the future of mobile, and the answer to network incompatibility. That's half true. While LTE and GSM tend to play nice (or at least nicer than the entirely disparate GSM and CDMA standards) the bands and frequencies used for high-speed wireless access vary pretty widely in different countries, or here in the US, across different networks. Chip OEM Qualcomm is hoping to banish network anxiety with a new family of LTE radios, christened RF360.

One of the most common questions newcomers to Android have is do I really need an antivirus? While there are varying answers to this question depending on who you ask, it's hard to deny the demand for such apps. Of course, most AVs have other, far more useful features than just the AV scan – like anti-theft, device location features, and more. For that reason alone, I always have one installed on all my devices.

The life of a racehorse trainer is no bed of wood shavings. It's a dirty, thankless job, with high risk to both money and person, and a big win can be years in the making. So what better vocation to make a sim game out of? Android gaming favorite Kairosoft is up to the challenge - after all, they managed to make both real estate and tailoring fun - with Pocket Stables.

Attention, kind neighbours to the north: the Amazon Mobile app now works with the Amazon.ca website. The latest update doesn't add any extra features, but Canadians can browse their own store, the US store, and stores from the UK, Germany, France, Italy, China and Japan. For Americans (and Americans only) Amazon is also offering a "Subscribe and Save" promotion: subscribe to regular monthly deliveries of five items or more and you'll save fifteen percent on the total cost.

Here at AP, we rely on HipChat for our internal chatroom(s). Given that, this news is probably more exciting for us than anyone else, but we're sharing it anyway. The HipChat team just released a new beta version of its app to the Play Store, and to put it simply, it's amazing. Compared to the current "stable" build, which ironically isn't very stable at all, the new beta has already proven itself to be the superior choice.
