Dropbox and Google Drive may be all the rage these days, but some people don't trust their data to such overlords. Cloud? Cloud! I'll host my own files, thank you very much. It's not too difficult anymore. Those that own a Synology NAS will be happy to know that a whole host of updates have rolled out to make accessing and managing files from Android all the better. These improvements coincide with the release of Synology's DiskStation Manager 4.3 beta.

LG Announces AT&T Optimus G Pro "Value Pack" OTA Update - Smart Video Pausing, Dual Camera Mode, And More

While LG originally announced the Optimus G Pro "Value Pack" back in March, at the time it was in reference to the Korean version of the device. The G Pro has since been released on AT&T Value Packless, but it appears that's finally changing: LG has officially announced that the VP upgrade will be hitting AT&T G Pro handsets very soon. While it sadly does not include an Android version bump, it does add a host of new features.

Skype For Android Updated (Again), Fixes Sign Out Issues And Quashes A Few Bugs

A little more than a week ago, a major Skype update hit the Play Store with an all-new, Holo-fied look and overall sleeker appearance. But, that update also brought some annoyances, as well as its fair share of bugs. Today, Skype has released another update that should fix at least some of those issues.

Motorola DROID Mini For Verizon Poses Next To Big Brothers DROID Ultra And DROID MAXX

Motorola has new phones for Verizon coming very soon, in case you hadn't heard. We've already seen a pretty convincing leak of the DROID MAXX, a Kevlar-cloaked updated version of Moto's DROID RAZR MAXX HD. Leakster extraordinaire Evleaks just posted another press shot, this time showing off the DROID Mini (or possibly MINI) next to the DROID Ultra and the nearly identical DROID MAXX with a bigger battery. The Mini and Ultra are assumed to be updated versions of the DROID RAZR M and DROID RAZR HD, respectively.

Galaxy S4 Zoom Will Be Available In The UK From Clove July 11 For £369

The Galaxy S4 Zoom should become available in the UK tomorrow, July 11. Clove has announced that they will sell the joint smartphone-camera for £369 excluding VAT (£442.80 including). The Zoom will only ship in white and comes with 8GB of internal memory, though just 5GB of that is accessible to the user. Like most digital cameras, you're expected to expand this thing with a MicroSD card, so you might want to add that to your cart when you place that order.

PSA: Phone Calls Are Returning To Gmail, Also Integrated With Google+ And The Chrome Extension

Yahoo! Mail App Updated To Version 2.6: Dropbox Integration, Business Mail Access, And More

Yahoo! Mail is still the number one provider of email services to the United States, and Yahoo has been steadily updating both the platform at large and the Android app. Yesterday's bump to version 2.6 adds the Dropbox integration shown at the recent developer conference, allowing users to add attachments directly from their cloud storage folders, no upload necessary. Just tap on the paperclip icon and select the Dropbox option.

Google Latitude To Be Retired On August 9th, Explaining Its Absence From Google Maps Version 7.0

If you eagerly updated your Android device to the shiny new version of Google Maps yesterday, only to despair at the absence of Google's Latitude location tracking/sharing service, there's a good reason for that. Latitude is going the way of Google Reader, and the service will disappear completely on August 9th. Google has made the change official on the "About Latitude" page of the Maps for mobile support hub, explaining that Latitude for iPhone, the Latitude API, and the various web services will be retired as well.
