After owners of the Nexus S i9023 and i9020T got an official 4.1.1 Jelly Bean OTA last night, the update has become available for the Nexus S' i9020A variant as well.

Just like before, the update can be downloaded straight from Google's servers, though Google has indicated that the OTA should be rolling out to Nexus S phones on "a number of carriers," meaning the wait for an automatic update prompt shouldn't be long.

Since time immemorial, the Android Market app let you see a list of just your purchased apps under a "Not installed" section. When the Play Store change happened, that list was still there. Then at some point with all the stealth updates, that list of paid apps went away. Thanks to Paul O'Brien over at Modaco, we have the Legacy Play app that solves that problem by bringing back the "Not installed" list.

"Serial killer" and "Simulator" aren't words that usually appear together. But in the case of Dexter, Showtime's prima donna of premeditation, it might just work. This fall, Showtime and Ecko|Code (Marc Ecko's game development studio) will bring Dexter Morgan to Android. It's labeled "Dexter The Game 2", since the original is a web-based affair. The second time around seems to be taking a Grand Theft Auto-style open approach.

As a major fan of Miami's favorite compulsive vigilante, I'm both excited and worried about Dexter The Game 2.

Earlier this week, Korean publication Digital Daily spread a few rumors of an upcoming Samsung event said to be happening in August where the company may unveil the Galaxy Note 2.

Guess what? We just got a save the date for a Samsung event on August 15th where Samsung will be "unveiling of the newest GALAXY device." It could be the Galaxy Note 2 - or perhaps the U.S. announcement of the Galaxy Note 10.1.

A little while ago, Madfinger Games pushed a pretty major update to its new zombie-filled apocalyptic first-person shooter Dead Trigger. This update brought new weapons, arenas, levels, and zombies; it also brought an unexpected perk: a new price of free.

Now you can get in on all of the action without paying a dime. Of course, if you still want to show the developers some love (which I highly recommend), you can also do so through the in-app purchasing system.

When Theft Aware was first released, we fell in love with it. Many months later when it was bought by avast!, we kept our fingers crossed that it would remain the same fantastic product that it had always been. Fortunately, avast! has proven itself to us, as both its Mobile Security suite and Anti-Theft (which is what became of Theft Aware), just keep getting better and better.

Ask any five Android fanatics you know the following question: "What's the most exciting tablet-based launcher project in the world right now?" And you're likely to get five identical responses. The Chameleon launcher has captured the imagination of Android tablet aficionados after a successful Kickstarter campaign and plenty of coverage from news outlets like this one. Today the developers posted two videos showing off Chameleon's impressive complexity and flexibility, and naturally they're showing it off on the hottest Android tablet going: the Nexus 7.

Update: It's live now in the Play Store. Get it!

A major update is coming to everyone's favorite zombified first person shooter for Android. You want more blood? More guns? More zombies? More awesome? Check, check, and check.

Madfinger packed DT's first big update full of fun stuff - everything from chainsaws to repeating rifles, there are even more ways to slay the undead. That's not all, either; there are new environments, new zombies, and even a casino so you can play the slots.

We've already seen the LS860 in blurrycam previously, but this latest photo of the upcoming LTE-equipped QWERTY slider headed to Sprint is a lot easier on the eyes.

According to @evleaks, the device is packing a dual-core MSM9860 Snapdragon S4 processor, so we can expect it to be pretty speedy. Android 4.0 is also present, but given LG's track record with updates, who knows if it'll ever seen 4.1. A 4" WVGA display, though, is definitely a bit of a letdown.
