Verizon Officially Unveils The DROID Turbo 2 With 'Shatterproof' Screen And Moto Maker, Coming October 29th Starting At $624

Previous rumors asserted that a beefed up version of the Moto X Style called the Moto X Force would come to the US as a Verizon exclusive known as the DROID Turbo 2. Rumors also said Verizon would boast about a so-called unbreakable display and introduce Moto Maker to a DROID device for the first time. Still with me? Good, because as previously leaked promotional materials showed, all of these claims were true, and now we're getting the official word straight from the horse's mouth. Verizon revealed the DROID Turbo 2 at its previously announced press event today (alongside the mid-range DROID Maxx 2) and proceeded to drop the device from around six feet onto concrete.

[Deal Alert] HTC Re Camera Fire Sale: Pick One Up For Just $50 ($150 Off Original Price)

When HTC announced its stand-alone Re sports camera, more than one commenter wondered what the company was doing leaving its smartphone comfort zone for an industry that's already dominated by a single player. Though the Re camera is decent enough on its own and the design is completely unique, it's not enough to sway potential buyers away from GoPro and Sony cameras, which have more features and an established reputation. Apparently someone at HTC agrees, because the camera is being discounted by a whopping 75%.

That brings the price down to just $50, well into impulse buy territory and much more palatable than the original $200 retail price.

[Update: Applies To All US Retailers] Huawei Stands By Their First Android Wear Watch, Says They Will Extend Manufacturer Warranty To Total Of 2 Years For Purchases Made Through Their Company Store

To show just how serious they are about their effort to make headway into the US market, Huawei will double the standard warranty period for the newly-released Huawei Watch. While the in-box insert for the Huawei Watch will state that the device is warranted for 12 months, you now need only to register the device at the company's website to add yet another year to the period. Both Huawei and Google are certainly hoping this might make it easier for you to swallow the idea of paying $399 for a smartwatch.

JPMorgan Chase Realizes There Are Not Nearly Enough Mobile Payments Services, Announces Creatively-Named Chase Pay

JPMorgan Chase announced a really cool idea today. Rather than use cash, check, or physical credit card, why not use a single service to substitute for all those methods from a mobile device? Knowing that consumers clearly want this and have never heard of anything like it, the banking giant announced Chase Pay, which will indeed be a mobile payments service that ties into Chase bank and credit card accounts. All kidding aside, this looks like a real dud.

Beside the fact that it looks at first blush like an imitation of the similar Android, Apple, and Samsung Pays, you will only be able to use your Chase accounts, should you be one of the 50% of American households that has one.

Hangouts v5.1 Begins Rolling Out With Bug Fixes [APK Download]

Remember that time you were super jazzed about Hangouts 4.0, and when it finally came out, it wasn't that great? How about when v5.0 began its rollout, and it was basically the same thing, but with working animated GIFs? Version 5.1 is now making its way out into the world, but if you weren't happy with the previous releases, you're probably not going to be too thrilled with this one. It looks like a relatively light bug fix update, and nothing more.

It's probably no coincidence that a v5.1 update was also just released on the iOS App Store with a very sparse changelog.
