Here Is The New ASUS Nexus 7, Sporting A Fresh Wallpaper [Gallery]

Yesterday, @evleaks scored several press images of the new Nexus 7, which is expected to be revealed by Google on July 24th. Not even a day later, we now have an exclusive gallery of more recent press shots that not only offer several more angles, but also showcase what I believe is the new default Android 4.3 Nexus wallpaper which replaces the Android 4.2 wallpaper seen in the previous pictures.

Remember that one Star Trek space battle scene? You know, the one where the captain is wiggling around in his chair while the camera shakes, and all the bridge officers are shouting things at him? [Weekend Poll] Are QWERTY Slider Smartphones Finally Dead?

With no DROID 5 in sight for an unveiling at next week's Verizon festivities, it seems the writing is on the wall for the form-factor that basically got Android off the ground: the QWERTY slider phone.

It's been nearly 4 years since the original DROID and HTC G1 debuted, two phones that really carried the Android platform in those early, uncertain days. It seemed, perhaps, that the trend the Sidekick (aka Hiptop) started in 2002 might continue on into the true smartphone era, side-by-side with the increasingly popular touchscreen slab (which at that point really just meant the iPhone).

Samsung Ditches Media And Music Hubs, Replaces Them With The Samsung Hub (Now In The Play Store)

If you've owned a Samsung device in recent years, then you're likely at least somewhat familiar with the Media and Music hubs, Samsung's exclusive music and movie stores. There's a good chance that you may have never used either of the pair, but if you have, Samsung is making some changes that are essentially going to cannibalize both apps for the Samsung Hub, which consolidates all of Samsung's current stores into one app.

First Motorola X Press Images Hit The Web [Updated: White And Profile]

The leakiest and one of the most mysterious phones in recent history just got a little less mysterious as @evleaks dropped the first official press renders onto our sleepy heads late Friday night. The OS is close to stock (it's Android 4.2.2 for now, but we fully expect 4.3 soon after its release), the cameras are where they're supposed to be, the on-screen buttons make us happy, and overall, it's not such a bad-looker for a mid-spec, affordable device.
