Samsung Adds $50 Media Hub Credit For HomeSync Purchases... Too Bad You Still Can't Purchase One

We've been keeping an eye on the Samsung registration page for a while now - it's got some nice perks for owners of select tablets. Yesterday a new device was added to the short list, the Samsung HomeSync. If you'll stretch memory a bit, you'll recall that the HomeSync is a combination home server and set-top box revealed back at MWC in February. You can register a new purchase on the page to get $50 of credit for the Media Hub, Samsung's alternative to the Play Store.

The WiQiQi Active Promises An Easy Qi Wireless Charging Solution For The Galaxy S4 Active, Currently Seeking Funds on Indiegogo

The Samsung Galaxy S4 Active is a neat device that's ruggedized and water-resistant. However, there's that accursed USB port. The port on this device is covered by a flimsy plastic flap that's tough to close properly, and feels like it could break off at any moment. It would be nice if you didn't have to mess with the port to charge the device, but Samsung hasn't released a wireless charging back for the S4 Active.

[Weekend Poll] Would You Pay More For A Phone Made Of Premium Materials (Wood, Glass, Etc.)?

It looks very likely to be the case that Motorola will be charging a little extra for the wooden backs on the Moto X, and by a little, I mean in the neighborhood of $50 compared to the plastic X. Is there $50 of wood, workmanship, and assembly there to justify this premium? Of course not. It's an option that, like most "premium" add-ons for everything from cars to kitchen appliances, is there for those people willing to pay to get it.

[APK Teardown Part 1] Google Search 2.7: Custom Hotwords, Photo Downloads, Automatic Language Pack Updates, And More

Alleged Photos Of Droid 5 Bubble Up From Weibo Showing Wireless Charging Coil

According to the aptly-named New Cell Phones Blog, photos of the "4.3-inch or 4.5-inch" Droid 5 have surfaced, which would confirm that Moto has another QWERTY slide-out keyboard in the works. The photos come to New Cell Phones courtesy of Weibo and show off a wireless charging coil. Other rumored features evidently include NFC and a resistance to both water and dust.

Samsung Galaxy Note III Passes Bluetooth SIG Certification

Samsung's Galaxy Note III, the device hotly anticipated by existing Note fans and mobile watchers alike, is one step closer to its imminent reveal, recently passing Bluetooth SIG certification.

The certification listing from the Bluetooth Special Interest Group doesn't tell us much, except that the specific model certified is headed for NTT Docomo. From the reports existence, however, it's safe to assume (if you weren't already expecting an IFA reveal) that the device is coming relatively soon.
