[Deal Alert] Holy Crap - eBay Has New, Unlocked Galaxy S6 G920i For Just $430 (US Only)

Man, the Galaxy S6 may not have the sex appeal of its more expensive brother the S6 Edge, but what it lacks in looks it is certainly making up for in value. Currently, you can buy an unlocked 32GB S6 in black, white, or gold for just $430 at Monoprice's store on eBay. This beats the previous best price we've seen by a not insignificant $40.

This is the G920i model, which is the standard international version. It should play nice with most GSM carriers bands, but you can check the full list of supported frequencies on the product page.

Samsung's New Fast Charge Wireless Qi Charger May Be The First Smartphone Charger With A Built-In Cooling Fan

This isn't really so much news as "I thought this was kind of cool and wanted to share it with all of you." I just received an evaluation unit of Samsung's new wireless fast charge pad for the Galaxy S6 edge+ and Note 5, and upon opening I noticed immediately that it was quite a bit thicker than Samsung's old Galaxy S6 wireless charging pad. I then spied an array of what looked like (and as it turns out, are) ventilation openings all along the bottom of the charging puck. Could it be? Did Samsung build a phone charger with a fan inside it?

Google App v5.3: Launcher Auto-Rotation May Be Returning To Phones Soon [APK Teardown]

The Google app is an interesting beast within the Android Ecosystem. It provides speech recognition, Google Now, multiple APIs, and even a launcher. Next to Google Play Services, the Google app is by far the most multi-faceted apk most of us have on our phones and tablets. The latest couple of updates teased users of the Android M Developer Preview 3 with brief access to Now On Tap before it was quickly taken away with a promise that it was still "coming soon". There were also a few other smaller details waiting to be found in a teardown, including the likely return of rotation support on the Google Now Launcher and some more forward motion for offline voice commands.

Opera 32 Lets You Add Websites To Your Homescreen, Sync Typed History, Pull To Refresh, And More

The latest version of Opera has arrived, and it comes containing all the features we detailed when we took a look at the beta build last month. But there was one feature we didn't say much about at the time, and this is the one Opera has chosen to emphasize in its announcement post.

In short, version 32 is eager to sprinkle shortcuts to your favorite sites all over your homescreen. No having to open the browser first and type in URLs. No searching through a list of bookmarks. Just tap on a website's icon as though it were an app, like you would when clicking on a bookmark widget from Chrome or your phone's default browser.

AT&T Updates The Galaxy Tab 4 8.0 To 5.1.1, Sprint's Galaxy Tab 4 7.0 Lags Behind With 5.0

There doesn't seem to be any rhyme or reason to which carriers release updates for their Android updates first, and once you stray outside of the shallow waters of flagship smartphones, things start to get really inconsistent. For example, AT&T is updating its carrier-specific version of the Samsung Galaxy Tab 4 8.0 to 5.1.1 today, at least according to this support page. But at the same time, Sprint's Galaxy Tab 4 7.0 is only just now getting upgraded from Android 4.4 to 5.0. Huh.

AT&T's Tab 4 8.0 update includes changes to the Quick Settings menu, but not much else on top of the usual changes.

Pebble Announces $249 Pebble Time Round, A Thin, Round Pebble With Color Display And... 2 Days Of Battery Life

Smartwatches are bulky - there's no getting around that. Even Apple, the very embodiment of tech's obsession with downsizing the z-axis of your products at all costs, can't make a thin smartwatch. Today, Pebble has decided that it can make a thin smartwatch, and that this watch can be round* (*with a massive, enormous bezel) and apparently that most of the company's claim to fame in smartwatches - battery life - really isn't super important after all. Meet the Pebble Time Round. It's a round Pebble Time that's just 7.5mm thin and, according to Pebble, will last 2 days on a charge.
