Samsung-Galaxy-Tab-10.1-Android-3.1-Honeyomb

With an update for the Galaxy Tab 10.1 just around the corner, a new video is now present on Samsung's YouTube channel that highlights all of the features of the Tab 10.1, including a pretty thorough look at Touchwiz UX and Samsung Hubs. Among the highlights and features is one rather noticeable blunder as well, so make sure to pay close attention around 5:42...

Did you catch that? I'm not entirely sure what "indivisual speakers" are, but they must be pretty awesome to end up in the spotlight like that! I kid, I kid.

All joking aside, I still stand by what I said yesterday: Touchwiz UX looks pretty damn good.

I've used Last.fm for a couple of years now, logging (or, in their terminology, "scrobbling") over 58,000 tracks as I listen to them. It's kind of your music player's "most played" list on steroids, as it's cross-compatible with everything.

Last.fm also works with local event listings, as well; they've just released a new app called "Festivals" that will hopefully find its way to music fans' phones everywhere.

Festivals works like a trip planner to make sure you get the most out of your festival experience. It provides you with a list of shows that are occurring during the day, as well as matching your compatible tastes according to your Last.fm account.

EVO 3D
Last Updated: February 8th, 2012

To say the HTC EVO 3D has a lot to live up to would be a colossal understatement. Its predecessor, the EVO 4G, ushered in a whole new smartphone era - one replete with 4.3-inch, 4G-capable Android behemoths.

And at least on paper, the new EVO is a marked improvement over the original, packing a significantly crisper display, a processor with twice the cores, and of course the much-ballyhooed stereoscopic 3D capabilities. But early reviews have been anything but glowing, and the kickstand - one of the EVO 4G's most unique features - is nowhere to be found on this new version of the handset.

While Honeycomb already has a few good magazine readers, like Zinio for example, there isn't much in the area of newspaper readers. Enter PressReader for Honeycomb, a new app that brings over 1,800 different newspapers from 95 different countries to your Android tablet.

When the iPad first hit the market, it changed the way consumers looked at computing, mobile devices, and productivity. It provided an easy way to accomplish basic tasks, a convenient way to surf the web, and bridged the gap between laptop and smartphone. As the natural competitor to iOS, Android had to fire back with a device that was comparable in function: the Motorola XOOM, the world's first Android 3.0 (Honeycomb) tablet. The XOOM and most subsequent Honeycomb tablets have achieved both form and functionality that rivals - and in most cases, bests - that of the iPad/2, so why hasn't the Android tablet market exploded?

Samsung-Galaxy-Tab-550x840
Last Updated: November 23rd, 2011

Update: This update is rolling out now, and is expected to hit all customers within four days.

If a leaked internal document obtained by SprintFeed is to be believed, then owners of the OG Galaxy Tab on Sprint should finally join the Gingerbread club on July 5th. This update will also bring added support for HD Bluetooth to the seven-inch tablet, on top of the added benefits and goodies of Gingerbread.

This timeline seems to be about right, as Samsung just released the source code for the Galaxy Tab SPH-P100 Gingerbread kernel. This means that, aside from receiving a much-needed bump up to Gingerbread, you should also see some custom kernel action popup shortly after.

If you want to get one of the hottest phones on T-Mo for the lowest price you can find, then you should probably head over the Wirefly where you can score the HTC Sensation 4G for $130 with a new two-year agreement. This is quite the deal, as Amazon Wireless and T-Mobile are both still selling this handset for $200.

Still not sold? Take a look at what you'll get for that one-thirty:

  • 4.3 inch qHD Super LCD display
  • 1.2GHz dual-core Snapdragon processor
  • 768MB RAM
  • 1GB built-in storage
  • 8MP rear camera, VGA front camera
  • Android 2.3 with Sense 3.0

As you can tell by those specs, this phone is definitely no joke.

Phones are quickly adding "personal trainer" to the list of roles they can perform for their users. The potential for note-taking, record keeping and stat tracking is immense, as there's a good chance you won't forget your device when you go out for a run or hit the gym.

Sports Tracker works by letting the app use your phone's GPS signal to determine distance and speed travelled while doing activities like cycling, running, swimming or rowing. The app also takes input like heart rate, allowing you to journal your progress across a number of days, further supported by the optional Bluetooth heart rate belt that's on sale from their website.

Got you on the title for a second, didn't I? With all the buzz (har har) surrounding Google+ lately, there's been near endless speculation about whether the new social network will have what it takes to "defeat" its biggest competitor: Facebook. In fact, it seems taken for granted that Google+ and Facebook are like oil and water - two things that simply cannot co-exist in harmony. As you may have guessed from my title, I think this is an absolutely silly discussion. Let's talk about just why that is.

Two Internets

Well, there's not really "two internets." But for the purpose of our discussion here, I'm going to characterize Facebook and Google as two separate "internets" (or, if you will - interwebs).

Gameloft's newest gaming title, BackStab HD, is available to users of high-end Android phones, the company announced minutes ago. Thankfully, the new title, which is a bloody (oh yes it is, just watch the video below), sword-bashing 3D game that reminds us of Assassin's Creed, is available in the Android Market for $6.99, honoring Gameloft's promise to deliver more games via our preferred channel as opposed to their own off-Market web store.

Take on the role of Henry Blake, a broken man whose life was stripped away, and help in his quest for justice and revenge.

Climb, jump and sneak your way through diverse settings to reach your target and strike down adversaries.
