Deal Alert: Get Sony's 43" 4K Android TV (2015 model) for $698 - with a $300 Dell eGift card

Buying a new TV is not something I typically look at doing. Sure, I like to go to Best Buy and look at the shiny things, dream a bit, and then look dejectedly at my empty wallet. Yet, when it comes down to it, I keep my TV a very long time. Lately, however, I have noticed quite a few tempting deals on Sony TVs. A few days ago, we informed you all that the Sony XBR-43X830C 43” 4K Android TV was listed on eBay for $549.99. This 2015 model gives you a 4K LED display, 4K streaming from Netflix and YouTube, Android TV, and Cast support.

[Deal Alert] Pick up an assortment of Aukey QC 2.0 chargers starting at 5 bucks after coupon

I know QC 3.0 is the hot new tech on the market right now, but, in reality, it is only incrementally better than the QC 2.0 technology that it is replacing. If you don't mind a small downgrade in speed, you can pick up the older generation chargers for a fraction of what those sporting QC 3.0 cost.

Aukey just sent me the links to a few coupons it is offering on some of its 'old' QC 2.0 chargers. It has a couple for use in the house and one for the car and all of them are heavily discounted. Here are the descriptions and links.

Mars: Mars is a delightful low-poly platformer mixed with an endless runner

NASA has plans in place to send astronauts to Mars in the next few decades. When they get there, I imagine it'll be pretty much exactly like Mars: Mars. This game takes place on Mars as you hop between platforms, exploring the surface, taking selfies (even Curiosity does it), and bringing new explorers to the planet.

Dropsy from Devolver Digital is now live in the Play Store with hugs for all

To call Dropsy a weird game would be a profound understatement—it's bizarre in the extreme. After a suspicious circus fire, Dropsy the clown embarks on a quest to clear his name and get some hugs. This game really emphasizes the hugs. It's a classic point-and-click game, but it's unlike anything I've seen before.

I'm not an avid gamer: puzzles, math games, brain teasers, anything that requires a bit of thinking and doesn't involve plot twists, that's my jam. Aviary Photo Editor adds more fonts, transform tool, and option to clone effects between photos

If I had a dime for every photo editor I come across on Android, I'm sure I'd easily have a couple of thousand bucks by now. But Aviary is slightly different. It was acquired by Adobe in 2014 because of its large selection of filters and effects, and the company has been enhancing it since: Material Design, free and premium features, and so on. The latest updated to version 4.8.0 brings 3 new interesting features and improves on an existing one.

First, there are more font options for text layers in Aviary, courtesy of Adobe Typekit. So expect to see more high quality typographies on photos edited within the app.

Rootjunky bypasses factory reset protection on Samsung phones... again

About nine months ago, Rootjunky managed to bypass the factory reset protection (FRP) on Samsung devices simply by inserting an OTG drive into the phone and installing an app. Then, two months later, he found a vulnerability on LG phones; this time, he circumvented FRP by using talkback settings to open a browser, downloading an APK that opened settings, adding a new user, switching back to the main account, and then resetting without FRP. However, this new exploit for Samsung phones might be the most ingenious yet.

Factory reset protection was added to Android with 5.1 Lollipop, but since different OEMs use different variations of Android, vulnerabilities can arise.
