AT&T Will Get The HTC One X+ Exclusively In The US, Also Adding The One VX To Its Roster

Well, the long-awaited (and rumored) HTC One X+ is official. HTC took the wraps off this not-so-secret handset earlier this morning, stating that it would be available in several different regions. Now, AT&T has announced that it will be the exclusive carrier of the device here in the US, and it will hit stores "in the coming months."

For those who may not have caught the news this morning, the One X+ is essentially the same as its predecessor on the outside, but is an entirely different beast on the inside:

  • 4.7" 1280x720 display
  • 1.7GHz quad-core Tegra 3 processor
  • 1GB RAM
  • 64GB internal storage
  • 8MP rear shooter, 1.6MP front camera
  • LTE
  • 2100mAh battery
  • Android 4.1 with Sense 4+

Also announced by AT&T today is the HTC One VX, a nice mid-range smartphone with decent specs:

  • 4.5" qHD Super LCD2
  • 1.2GHz dual-core Snapdragon S4
  • 1GB RAM
  • 8GB storage, microSD card slot
  • 5MP rear shooter, VGA front camera
  • Android 4.0 (will be upgraded to 4.1 "shortly after launch")

Much like the One X+, there's no certain date when the VX will be released.

C Spire Wireless Gets The Galaxy S III, Available Right Now For $200 With 2-Year Contract

It seems like everyone's getting a Galaxy S III lately, and C Spire Wireless (formerly Cellular South) didn't want to be left out. If you're unfamiliar with the company, they're a regional provider in the Southeastern US, with a Verizon-sourced regional MVNO (mobile virtual network operator) national network. C Spire operates its own network on its home turf, and that includes a growing LTE footprint. That LTE, for now, is quite limited, basically to a few parts of the Southeast US.

The Thin And Light LG Venice Is Coming To Boost Mobile On October 10th For $219

Boost Mobile has just announced yet another option to its Android-powered entourage: the LG Venice. The 4.3" Venice is touted as an "ultra-thin" and light handset, and at only one-third of an inch thick with a weight of 4.41 oz, it affirms that claim.

The phone ships with fairly average specs: 1GHz processor, 1GB RAM, 5MP rear shooter, VGA front camera, and Android 4.0. The device will go on sale beginning October 10th for a modest $219 and is "paired with Boost Mobile's no-contract $55 Android Monthly Unlimited plan."

LG Intuition Review: Quirky Can Be Fun - Unless You Sacrifice Everything To Get There

If you're a close follower of tech, you're probably familiar with the LG Intuition, or at least its European brother, the Optimus Vu. The major selling point: a 5", 1024x768 (4:3) display. Sure, the other specs are noteworthy in that they match other high-end phones, with a 1.5 GHz dual-core Snapdragon S4 CPU, 1GB RAM, Android 4.0, and LTE. But that massively wide screen is undoubtedly going to be the talking point.

And talk people will. It's hard not to remark on just how ridiculous it looks and feels. At first, anyway. After using it for a few minutes, though, it suddenly seems somehow normal that it's so absurdly large.

The DROID RAZR M just landed on Verizon yesterday for $99. A little while later, it dropped to $80 on Wirefly. Now, you can get both the white and black versions from Amazon Wireless for just $50 with a new two-year agreement (proof that you should never order anything directly from the carrier, especially on launch day). If you're already a Verizon customer, you can still get this solid mid-ranger for $70, which is $10 cheaper than anywhere else.

Just one short week ago, Motorola took to the stage in New York City to talk about the DROID RAZR HD/MAXX and RAZR M. While we don't know much in terms of pricing and release information for the former, the latter just became available on Verizon's website and in all retail locations.

AT&T LG Escape 4G LTE Official: 4.3" qHD IPS Display, Android 4.0, $50 On Contract - Available Sept. 16

Budget on AT&T just got a little better, as the carrier has announced the LG Escape, a 4.3" entry-level Ice Cream Sandwich phone that will be available next week online and in stores. Here's a quick breakdown of the specifications:

  • 1.2GHz dual-core processor (most likely a down-clocked Qualcomm Snapdragon S4 MSM8960)
  • Android 4.0
  • 4GB interal storage

While it's not the most exciting phone ever, at just $50 on contract, it's probably going to get a lot of attention at AT&T's retail stores (as most budget phones do).

Amazon is currently unveiling a slew of new products at its press conference today. One of the headlining set of slates is the Kindle Fire HD. They will come in two sizes, 7" and 8.9". The HD tablets will be tied deeply to Amazon's content ecosystem. The 8.9" model will have an astounding 1920x1200 display, and it's bound to be one of the nicest looking displays we've seen in a primarily-content-driven device. Unfortunately, we haven't heard yet what the resolution will be for the 7" device. Update: It's going to be 1280x800 for the 7" display.
