Modaco Toolkit Enables Easy Multi-User Support For Rooted Phones Running Android 4.2

Multi-user support is one of the most interesting additions in Jelly Bean 4.2, but you can only get it if you're using a tablet. It makes sense - phones are rarely shared between more than one person, while tablets are naturally shareable. Even so, it would be nice if Google gave users the option. But thanks to modder extraordinaire Paul "Modaco" O'Brien, there's a relatively easy way to enable multi-user mode on smartphones.

[Updated] Bluetooth Filing Reveals LG LS980 Running Android 4.2 - Is This The Snapdragon 800-Powered Sprint Optimus G 2?

Update: Turns out this probably isn't the Optimus G Pro - it looks a heck of a lot more like what is being collectively dubbed the Optimus G 2. It seems an official Sprint page with build.prop info for the LS980 has been dug up (by our commenters), and it reveals a few tasty tidbits -namely, confirming Android 4.2[.2], and an MSM8974 chipset. That's no Snapdragon 600 - that's a Snapdragon 800.

Upcoming Tegra 4-Powered Toshiba AT10LE-A Tablet Leaks, Shows Off Android 4.2.1 And A Keyboard Dock

Toshiba is kind of all over the place when it comes to Android. It has released some absolutely fantastic hardware in the past, but the lack of support for said hardware is awfully damning when it comes to recommending its devices in good conscience.

Still, it looks like the company is knee-deep in the development of a new tablet, which is currently being called the "AT10LE-A," and is said to be powered by NVIDIA's newest baby – the upcoming Tegra 4.

ASUS is on a roll with the 4.2 updates lately – it started with the TF300 (Wi-Fi) back in early March, and followed with the Infinity (TF700) and MeMO Pad Smart shortly after. And of course, it released full ROM downloads along the way for those who prefer to manually flash their devices.

The 3G version of the TF300 – the TF300TG – is next in line for the 4.2.1 update, which appears to have started rolling out sometime over the past couple of days.

Android 4.2 Rolling Out Now To The ASUS Transformer Pad Infinity (TF700) In The U.S. [Changelog]

At the beginning of March, ASUS became the first company to push Android 4.2 to a non-Nexus device when the update came to the TF300. At the time, the company promised 4.2 for the TF700 and MeMO Pad Smart sometime "in the second quarter." We're now three days into Q2, and ASUS has started pushing the update to the TF700 (Infinity). Talk about delivering on promises.

Among those, the Away Mode functionality has been improved, giving users more control while they're on the go.

Galaxy S4 Mini Spotted, Rumored To Have 256ppi Display, Dual-Core Processor, Android 4.2.2

Well, that didn't take long. Just a week after Samsung announced its newest flagship phone, we get rumors of the Mini version of the same. As before, it's not just a smaller version of the phone, but a lower-specced version as well. In fact, in terms of the display, the rumored specs are much lower. 960x540 to the tune of 256ppi. In other words, exactly half the resolution (the GS4 packs 1920x1080) and a little more than half the ppi (441ppi).

Verizon Finally Starts Pushing Android 4.2.2 To The Galaxy Nexus

Oh, Verizon. The company we all love to hate (aside from AT&T). You push updates ridiculously late all the time, have to Droidify every handset that comes your way, and charge ridiculously high prices. Still, we just can't stay away. It's the LTE – you know that, right? We love the LTE coverage, so we deal with all the crap.

When it comes to dealing with Verizon's crap, I can't say that any phone has gotten a worse hand than the Galaxy Nexus.

ASUS Releases Full Android 4.2.1 ROM (Build 10.6.1.8) For The Transformer Pad 300

Those of you who decided to unlock the bootloader of your ASUS Transformer Pad 300 were likely pretty bummed when the 4.2.1 update started rolling out earlier this month (I know I was) since ASUS decided that unlocked devices shouldn't get OTAs. Thankfully, the company just uploaded the full ROM to its site for your flashing pleasure.

The TF300 marks the first non-Nexus tablet to get the bump to 4.2.x, which brings features like multi-user, quick settings, lockscreen widgets, and much more.
