Samsung-Galaxy-Stellar-Jasper-dual-core-smartphone-Verizon-2

If you head on over to Verizon's support page, you can find a changelog for a decidedly minor update to the Samsung Galaxy Stellar (version VRALH2). The update improves backlight brightness coming out of sleep mode, boosts voice quality, and fixes some bugs that may have led to "rare occurrences" of device resets.

If you have a Stellar, this update should be rolling out to you in the next couple of weeks.

For many users, if an official firmware update for their device isn't available, a leaked ROM will do just as well. Owners of Samsung's International Galaxy SII (I9100) willing to run leaked firmware will be happy to know that today, XDA user izap has provided Jelly Bean 4.1.2 (build JZO54K.I9100XXLSJ) firmware for all to enjoy.

Of course, there have been rumblings that the SII will receive an official update to 4.1 this month, but sooner is always better, right?

There are still great swatches of the American wireless industry woefully lacking in LTE coverage (we're looking at you, T-Mobile) but bit by bit the various carriers have been hopping on the bandwagon. While budget carrier Cricket Wireless has actually had LTE coverage in Las Vegas and Tucson for the last few months, it'd been restricted to USB access dongles, WiFi hotspots and the like. Their first LTE smartphone, the LG Optimus Regard.

If you're convinced that LTE is the way to go and aren't interested in picking up the Nexus 4, then Amazon Wireless is running a couple of deals right now for those who have been considering making the jump the Sprint.

First off, the HTC EVO LTE is now only $20. Twenty. Not a bad deal for such a solid phone, especially if you plan on installing CyanogenMod 10 on it.

Are you a T-Mobile customer absolutely fed up with the carrier's admittedly absurd on-contract pricing for phones? I probably would be, too, if I was on T-Mobile. Fortunately, if you're a savvy consumer, a few times a year T-Mo offers some legitimately good deals on its best phones for around 48 hours, and on November 16th, one of those sales is going to happen. And no, the Galaxy Note II isn't a part of it, sadly.

We've been eagerly awaiting the arrival of the Galaxy Camera on AT&T for over a month now and today we finally received the juicy details we've been anticipating. The camera is going to come with a price tag of $499, putting it firmly outside the realm of your typical casual point-and-shoot market. However, you can knock $100 off that price tag if you buy it with an on-contract Galaxy smartphone. The camera itself will not be subject to a two-year contract, of course.

According to Reuters, analyst firm Strategy Analytics has determined that during the third quarter of 2012, the Galaxy S III was the world's best-selling smartphone. Now, there is one small caveat that does put a slight damper on this rather big achievement for Samsung, and that's the fact that the iPhone 5 was slated to launch at the end of Q3, which always slows down current-gen iPhone sales. It's also pretty unlikely Samsung will hold onto this title for Q4.

Ah, Black Friday. The biggest (and most malevolent) shopping day of the year. A day of good deals, hateful people, and... other stuff. If you're willing to brave the all that for a new phone, Sam's Club has you covered this year, with the Galaxy S III going for less than a buck with a new two-year agreement.

From what we gathered by calling a few different Sam's stores, this is good for all four carriers (so long as your local Sam's has them all).

infuse dock small

Docks are hard to come by for Android hardware, where very few individual models rise above the pack. But if you're one of 30,000,000 people sporting a Galaxy S III, or one of the considerably smaller number using AT&T's Samsung Infuse 4G, you can pick up an official vehicle mount for a song. Assuming that you can sing a song that's worth five American dollars.

The Infuse 4G dock is currently $29.99 on Amazon, but some wary forum poster over at SlickDeals spotted the same dock at AT&T's online store for just five bucks even.
