Reputed leaker of phones @evleaks is talking about the Nexus 5 again today, and this time we're hearing that the device will be available on the Sprint network. An image of the Nexus 5 was included in the Twitter posting, but it doesn't appear to be any different than the other renders of the Nexus 5. So how's this going to work?
Sprint support has been on the table since the radio listings leaked, so this isn't a complete surprise. Read More
It looks like last night's press shot of the Nexus 5 from @evleaks wasn't the only morsel of Nexus news we were meant to receive this weekend, after all. Our favorite gadget leaker has provided another treat, this time sharing a press shot of the white (well... black and white) Nexus 5, along with a possible release date - "11/1".
This render looks more refined than @evleaks' shot of the black Nexus 5 and, while the front remains black, the new shot makes the white N5 look downright appealing. Read More
If you've been on pins and needles for another fix of Nexus hype, @evleaks has provided something you may like. In a post to Twitter this evening, @evleaks shared a new press render of the Nexus 5 - one that matches the Telus Nexus 5 leak we covered last week.
As usual, @evleaks' post is sparse on information, reading only "Nexus 5, by LG, 2013." And this isn't exactly something we haven't seen before - at this point, we've pretty much seen the Nexus 5 from all angles. Read More
After dropping the Xperia Z1 for T-Mobile on us this morning, @evleaks has revealed another upcoming Android handset headed to a US carrier near you; namely, the Galaxy S4 Mini for Verizon.
Now, I'm not entirely sure we can be 100% positive this is for Verizon, but oh wait, the home button has a not at all conspicuous Verizon logo! Read More
Are you holding out for a stateside release of Sony's new flagship, the Xperia Z1? It appears hope may finally be on the horizon, at least if T-Mobile is an option for you. @evleaks just released a photo of what looks to be an Xperia Z1 headed to America's pinkest carrier, courtesy of a bit of T-Mobile branding along the bottom. Take a looksee.
We had some time with the Z1 back at IFA in September, but as seems to be the case with nearly every Sony phone lately, an American launch wasn't announced or even suggested at the time. Read More
We've all had a great deal of fun over the past few days speculating if an LG phone that appeared alongside a Nexus 4 in Google's video for the new Android 4.4 statue was a leak of this year's upcoming Nexus handset. Some folks at S4GRU stirred up even more excitement when they paired the device with an FCC filing for the LG D820. Now, according to @evleaks, the alluring LG D820/821 isn't actually a new Nexus phone - it's just a CDMA-compatible variation of the G2. Read More
Perennial purveyor of privileged information @evleaks has delivered a nice weekend "present", posting a lock screen wallpaper from the yet-unannounced Galaxy Note 3.
The wallpaper, which weighs 6.9MB, has a resolution of 1920x1920, implying that the Note 3 has a predictable enough 1080x1920 resolution.
It shouldn't be long until we hear more about the Galaxy Note 3 (David and I will be on the ground at IFA 2013) and hopefully see even more goodies from the device, but if you want to grab the wallpaper right now, just hit the link in @evleaks' tweet above. Read More
HTC's yet-unannounced Zara isn't exactly a stranger to the rumor circuit. We've heard all the important specs, but @evleaks has just given us a look at what appears to be a slightly censored press shot.
For those who may not remember, the Zara is rumored to be the midrange lovechild of the One and Desire lines, with (according to @evleaks) a dual core 1.2GHz processor, a 4.5" qHD (960x540) display, 1GB RAM, 8GB internal storage (expandable via microSD), a 2100mAh battery pack, and Android 4.3 with Sense 5.5 on top. At this point, there's essentially nothing we don't know about the Moto X. We've seen the specs and benchmarks. Taken a look at the camera app. Toyed around with all the cool new features. Watched how it's going to be passively listening to everything you say.
There really isn't much for Moto to tell us on August 1st, save for the price.
Now, @evleaks has published the final set of press shots for both the black and white versions of the device:
Gotta admit – that white one is pretty dang sexy. Read More
ZTE is an up-and-comer in the smartphone world, one of about a half-dozen Chinese manufacturers that's slowly increasing its presence on the world stage. The company has released some impressive hardware, even if it never seems to get out of Asia. The ZTE Grand X Quad Lite was just announced for the Indian market. But apparently the sub-continental arm of ZTE lost their password to the company FTP.
Look closely at the sole press shot up there, and you'll see the unmistakable watermark of @evleaks, the Twitter tipster who seems to have scooped just about every major Android phone in the last few months. Read More
