LG Intuition Review: Quirky Can Be Fun - Unless You Sacrifice Everything To Get There

If you're a close follower of tech, you're probably familiar with the LG Intuition, or at least its European brother, the Optimus Vu. The major selling point: a 5", 1024x768 (4:3) display. Sure, the other specs are noteworthy in that they match other high-end phones, with a 1.5 GHz dual-core Snapdragon S4 CPU, 1GB RAM, Android 4.0, and LTE. But that massively wide screen is undoubtedly going to be the talking point.

And talk people will. It's hard not to remark on just how ridiculous it looks and feels. At first, anyway. After using it for a few minutes, though, it suddenly seems somehow normal that it's so absurdly large.

What David Uses: The Apps, Tools, Devices, And Other Stuff I Can't Do Without

We've been ruminating on the idea of a series like this for a while at Android Police, and today, we're finally taking the plunge. Want to know the Android apps, tools, and hardware the editors of Android Police use day to day? Now you can! I mean, if you want to know. We won't be offended if you don't. Promise.

So, how's this going to work? We're going to start with hardware, then get into apps. From there, we'll talk about more hardware, in the form of the secondary accessories and other gizmos that we feel "complete" our Android lives. Yeah, this is kind of like TheVerge's "what's in your bag?

Where Do They Get Those Wonderful Toys? Comparing The Newest iPhone To Android

Yes, we're an Android site. Yes, there was an Apple event today. We're gonna talk about it. As the newly-recast Rhodey said in Iron Man 2, "It's me. I'm here. Get used to it." Because the new iPhone raises a lot of questions: Didn't I see an Android phone with [some feature] before? Is the new iPhone really the thinnest smartphone around? Why in the world would apps need to be letterboxed? The answer to these questions and more lie within. What doesn't lie within is fanboy bickering. Let's keep it civil everyone.

It's The Size, Stupid

Easily, the biggest new feature for the iPhone 5 is the display size.

CyanogenMod Announces New Monthly M-Series Releases, Begins By Offering Up CM10 M1 For Select Devices

Tonight, when everyone else is sleeping, the folks over at CyanogenMod are hard at work, as always. The team just announced a brand new addition to the slew of CM releases: M-Series. From now on (provided the community approves), the team will begin rolling out builds that are "a bit more stable" at the beginning of every month. Prior to this initial release of CM10-M1, the group did a "soft freeze of the codebase" in an attempt to stabilize the builds, so these should be more reliable than your average release.

Here's the list of devices that builds are currently available for:

  • Galaxy Nexus GSM (maguro)
  • Galaxy Nexus VZW (toro)
  • Galaxy Nexus Sprint (toroplus)
  • Galaxy S2 GT-I9100G (i9100g)
  • Galaxy S (galaxysmtd)
  • Galaxy S B (galaxysbmtd)
  • Captivate (captivatemtd)
  • Galaxy S3 Sprint (d2spr)
  • Galaxy S3 VZW (d2vzw)
  • Galaxy S3 AT&T (d2att)
  • Galaxy S3 TMO (d2tmo)
  • Galaxy S3 US Cellular (d2usc)
  • Nexus S (crespo)
  • Nexus S 4G (crespo4g)
  • Galaxy Note AT&T (quincyatt)
  • Google Nexus 7 (grouper)
  • Sony Xperia Acro S (hikari)
  • Sony Xperia S (nozomi)

As always, nightlies will continue to be available, but for the slightly less adventurous among you, this effort should provide a healthy middle ground between bleeding edge, and waiting on stable RCs for your device.
