These days, it's hard to survive without external power for our smartphones. Xperia XZ Premium proves to be the most durable Sony phone yet in JerryRigEverything test

Sony has maintained the same basic design language for years, but a number of its phones have barely squeaked by in the JerryRigEverything durability testing. What about the new Xperia XZ Premium? It has premium right in the name, and Sony is asking for a very premium $800 for it. This phone fairs quite well overall.

Fail: Samsung dishonors Cookie Monster by using a cracker as the cookie emoji

If there's one thing that everyone knows about Sesame Street's Cookie Monster, it's that he loves cookies, namely those of the chocolate chip variety. In fact, it's more of an obsession than a love. You can imagine, then, how important the cookie emoji would be to Cookie Monster on World Chocolate Day. However, Samsung dishonored our furry blue friend by utilizing a cracker emoji instead.

American Express adds Android Pay support in the UK

It's been a while since we've had any good UK related Android Pay news, the last tidbit being the addition of Metro Bank to the service back in February. You may have seen that American Express got Android Pay support in Canada recently, something I was more than a little bit jealous of as I've been waiting to have my Amex on my phone for ages now. Finally, my calls have been answered, and Amex cards now work with Google's mobile payments app here in the UK.

This makes me happy.

I didn't get a notification about this, which I might have expected given my Amex card is set up in my Google account.

Outdoor-friendly Android Wear watches are a special breed and the sexily named Casio WSD-F10 is one of the species' rare specimens. Samsung is blocking Bixby remapping apps for the Galaxy S8 again, starting with the recent T-Mobile update

Ever since the Galaxy S8 came out, Samsung has been trying to push Bixby onto owners. Given how Bixby isn't any more useful than Google Feed or Google Assistant, how the English voice assistant still isn't out, and how the button is unable to be disabled, many have turned to remapping apps. Samsung already attempted to block these apps once, but clever developers found a way around that pretty quickly. Now, starting with yesterday's T-Mobile update, Samsung has blocked Bixby remapping apps yet again.
