Google is trying to get SMS 2-step verification users to switch to phone prompts

In June of last year, Google introduced phone prompts that made using two-step verification easier than ever. These proved popular, being more secure and simple to use than SMS codes. In February of this year, Google updated these prompts to show more information about the device attempting to sign into your account. And soon, the company will begin pushing these prompts to users of the older, less seamless SMS two-step verification method.

SEGA adds Virtua Tennis Challenge to SEGA Forever but still can't figure out how to please fans

Virtua Tennis Challenge is the latest Sega game to be added to the Sega Forever classic games collection. Like all Sega Forever games, Virtua Tennis Challenge is free-to-play with advertisements and contains a single in-app purchase of $1.99 that removes said ads. This gives players a way to try the game without going out of pocket. What is funny is this appears to be biting Sega in the butt, as the reviews so far have not been kind at all.

Google is increasingly interested in expanding its reach beyond the digital world. Search results and Maps listings are more than just links and Wikipedia snippets; they often contain live info that can help you plan your day. Minecraft's next adventure arrives with Story Mode - Season Two

When Minecraft exploded on the scene I was one of the countless people who assumed it would just be a fad. We were all wrong, and the game has sold more copies than any other game except Tetris. It's so popular that Microsoft put up $2.5 billion to acquire the game's developer Mojang. Part of the game's strength has been catering to kids and adults alike, and it does that through several different games on various platforms. Minecraft: Story Mode arrived on Android a couple of years ago and has been immensely popular. Fans of that game will be thrilled to hear that the sequel has just been launched.

[Deal Alert] Grab a pair of factory-renewed Bose Quiet Comfort 35 for $260 ($90 off retail)

I've tested many over-ear headphones over the past couple of years and I can easily say that the Bose QuietComfort 35 are my favorite. I often recommend the value-for-money proposition of the Plantronics BackBeat Pro 2, but when I go to pick up one of these two to use while working or traveling, I always go for the Bose. They're better at blocking noise, lighter, more travel-friendly, and more comfortable to wear over long periods of time. But their $350 price always gives me pause when asked about them and that's why today's deal is very interesting.

Bose is selling the QuietComfort35 on eBay for $260 - $90 off their original retail price.

IFTTT adds an Uber channel so you can automate and trigger things based on your rides

IFTTT keeps getting more powerful with time thanks to the addition of plenty of services that normally don't talk to each other but are made to do so thanks to its applets and automations. The latest to join the fold is popular — albeit recently very controversial — ride sharing service Uber.

The Uber channel on IFTTT isn't as capable as most others since it only provides Triggers and not Actions. So you can't have your ride automatically requested or canceled based on something else happening, but what you can do is trigger another service when your ride arrives, starts, or ends, and you even have the option to specify exact locations for pickup and drop-off for the trigger to work.

[Update: In Stable Version] WhatsApp lets you send any file type, bundles shared media, and modifies the call screen

It's quite fitting that the first article I write when I get back from my honeymoon (wipe your tears, ladies and gentlemen, this one's taken) is about WhatsApp. For the past years, I've reported about the app's different interface and functionality changes here on Android Police and while I was sipping cava by the sea or emphatically nodding "Si, si," to everyone in Spain while putting my new husband's feet to the test (not like that, you dirty-minded people, we were walking a lot everywhere), WhatsApp rolled out a couple of new things to its app...
