Report: Most Of The Original Google Now Team Left The Company Prior To I/O This Year

Google announced a new feature of Google Now at I/O this year called Now on Tap. It hasn't been available in any of the Android M developer previews, but it looks like one of the more exciting things to happen to Now since its introduction in 2012. Most of the original Google Now developers won't be around to see it, though. According to Re/code, many engineers that helped make Google Now a reality left in the months before I/O.

[Deal Alert] Grab An Extra Aukey Quick Charge 2.0 Compatible Charger For Just $7.99 ($8 Off) With Coupon On Amazon

Almost everybody knows by now what is good by having a device that supports Qualcomm's Quick Charge 2.0 standard. It will charge...quickly. The negative is that if you have amassed a stockpile of USB chargers over the years, none of your old ones can give you the speedy refuel. With Aukey's QC 2.0-compatible charger going for just $7.99, or half off of the full $15.99, after a coupon code on Amazon, you can grab one without feeling its toll on your wallet.

That's even cheaper than the deal we posted just days ago for $10 each, which was quite popular itself.

Creative Labs Sound Blaster Roar 2 Review: A Killer Successor To One Of The Best Speakers I've Ever Heard

Back in June of last year, I took the Creative Labs Sound Blaster Roar for a spin (and loved it). When Creative pinged me about the Roar's successor, I naturally couldn't wait to get my hands on it - and with a tagline like "Smaller, Lighter, & Sexier," I hoped that it would be even better than its predecessor.

Spoiler: it is. This thing is legit. And for a starting price of $170, it's hard to deny that it's one of the best speakers around right now.

Appearance and Features

From an aesthetic standpoint, the Roar 2 looks a lot like last year's model. No surprise there, really - what would be the point of completely changing the design and keeping the same name?

[Hands-On] neutriNote Is A Simple But Powerful Plain-Text Editor With PHP Markdown And LaTeX Math Rendering Support, Now In Beta

There's always more than one way to approach the creation of an app and in the case of note-taking, it's very easy to make things too simple or too complex. From a design standpoint, powerful Android apps can sometimes leave intuitiveness and beauty aside (see Titanium Backup for more details).

neutriNote is a new app, currently in beta, that combines a simple and attractive front-end with a litany of features that can and should appeal to power users, especially of the academic type.

The app comes from the developer behind Minutes Text Notes, a very similar set of free and paid apps.

Cortana Public Beta Program Now Open To All Android Users In The US

Just because you have an Android device, that doesn't mean you have to commit to using Google Now. Maybe you don't trust el Goog with that much information. Maybe, for some reason, you rather give that data to Microsoft instead. In such a case, you're welcome to use Cortana as your digital voice assistant.

An early Android version has been available since last month. We've even seen an update roll out that lets you launch Cortana using the Google Now "swipe up" gesture. Now you can get future updates without having to hunt around for the APK or wait for Microsoft to approve your request.

Sony Releases Until Dawn Companion App For Android Shortly Ahead Of Console Game's Release

Until Dawn, for the uninitiated, is not a game about seeing who can stay up the latest. It's a survival horror title set to hit the PlayStation 4 tomorrow, August 25th. Players will be in for a frightening experience that's meant to be played multiple times, with each adventure lasting around ten hours.

Just before the big day, Sony has released the official Until Dawn companion app into the Play Store. As long as the app is connected to the same Wi-Fi network as the console, you will be able to use your phone or tablet to unlock secrets and keep track of collectibles.

More Images Of The Huawei Nexus (Angler) Leak Showing Off USB Type-C Port And Snapdragon 810

We got our best look yet at the Huawei Nexus phone (codename Angler) earlier today, and now we've got a few more pics from the same source. This time the phone is in a protective case that obscures many of the features, but there's one thing we can see plain as day—a USB Type-C port. It's happening.
