Falcon Pro Hits v1.9, Brings New Font, Moveable Action Bar, And Several Bug Fixes

When it comes to Twitter clients on Android, Falcon Pro is hard to beat. It's fast, functional, and dang pretty to look at. Aside from that, though, it's also very well-supported, as the dev is constantly adding new features or fixing bugs.

Today's update is no different, as it brings a handful of new customizations to the client, including a "sexy" new font and the option to move the action bar to the bottom:

Bluestacks Announces GamePop, A Free Gaming Console With A Monthly Subscription That Plays Mobile Games On Your TV

Guys, stop talking about the Ouya for a second. Bluestacks has a different console it would like you to pay attention to: GamePop. The company that has previously worked on interoperability between Android software and other platforms, is now launching a console of its own. The hardware—including a console and physical controller—will be entirely free for people who pre-order. The catch? You have to pay for a subscription to play games.

The entire package will come with one console and one physical controller, though you'll also be able to use your smartphone as a controller as well. If you pre-order by in May (which you can do starting now) the service will cost $6.99 per month and the hardware will be free.

[Update: Now In The Play Store] Hands-On: Focus@Will Launches Android App, But It's Pretty Much Just The Website On A Smaller Screen

I may have just heard about focus- and relaxation-inducing music site Focus@Will, but that hasn't stopped me from already falling in love with it. For much of my stare-at-a-screen-all-day career, I've actually wanted a service like this, and even have a few stations on Pandora and Spotify that almost mimic the service. Now that I've found F@W, though, those stations are essentially defunct.

What is Focus@Will?

That's probably the biggest question on your mind right now. Here's a good definition, directly from the company's FAQ:

Focus@will is a new neuroscience based web tool that uses phase sequenced instrumental music to increase your attention span up to 400% when working, studying, writing and reading.

[APK Teardown] Google Glass XE5 - A "Take A Note" And Menu Voice Commands, More Wink Work, And Localization Progress

Man, Google Glass moves at the speed of light. This is crazy.

The big XE5 update just hit the interwebs, so that means it's time for a teardown! XE5 is still Android 4.0.4 based, but now we're up to build 4.0.4-665738; the old version was 4.0.4-625737.

The Glass Team is still extraordinarily messy; any new file usually has copies in a million different locations. Basically, everything ships in every APK. Maybe the Glass Team is using extremely bad organization as a form of Teardown obfuscation. (It's not working.)

For Developers: AIDE Evolves To v2.0, Allows You To Go Native Like A Pro

Holy cow! If you write Android apps, you need to look over here right now. You've probably heard of AIDE, a complete development environment that runs on and builds for Android. While it was pretty impressive before, you won't believe what the appfour GmbH team has in store now. Just today, version 2.0 of the Android IDE was pushed to the Play Store with support for building native apps with C/C++, quick previews of XML layouts, and a cleaner and even more Holo-themed interface, along with major enhancements to Git.

These days, it seems like everybody can create basic Java-based applications on any old Android device thanks to tools like Tasker App Factory or any number of IDEs and compilers; but nobody even mentions building high performance native apps and games.

LG Announcing New Device May 30 – Could This Be The Optimus G2?

As is the custom these days, another Android OEM has teased a phone with an event invitation. A year ago it wouldn't have been very interesting to speculate on what LG was up to, but the OEM has been returned to prominence after building the last Nexus device and delivering a competent flagship phone of its own in the Optimus G. This invitation summons press to an event in Macau, China at the end of the month, and it might be the Optimus G2.

Leisure Suit Larry fans, get ready to once again return to Lefty's Bar. Leisure Suit Larry: Reloaded, a remake of the original game in the series, is easing its way into the Play Store on May 31st. Replay Games has completed the HD makeover using the funds from its successful 2012 Kickstarter campaign, which exceeded their original $500,000 goal by over $150,000.

For those of you who have never met Larry Laffer before, he's a 40 year-old virgin "still untouched by human hands," as the game puts it. He stars in a series of point-and-click adventure games known for their raunchy humor, revealing puzzles, and occasionally topless women.

Samsung Begins Rolling Out Android 4.1.2 Jelly Bean To Galaxy Note In Canada

Owners of the original Galaxy Note in the great white north are getting a little present today – a brand new (year old) version of Android is coming to their devices. Samsung has announced via Twitter that owners will be getting the update starting today on Bell, Telus, and Rogers.

The update is going out over Samsung's Kies program on all carriers, but it looks like OTA updates are occurring as well.

Google I/O Android App Updated For 2013 With A Ton Of New Features

As the start of Google I/O 2013 grows achingly close, Mountain View has seen fit to grace us with a pretty significant update of the official Google I/O app for this year's conference. For anyone attending the event, this app is going to be their golden ticket. The app should work on most Android form-factors (2.3 Gingerbread or higher), with a killer card-based UI that's consistent with Google's new design aesthetic. As for features, there's quite a lot going on:
