If you were waiting for the Nexus One to hit Verizon anytime soon, the bad news is that you can wave goodbye to that ever happening as Google updated their phone sales website today, and the Verizon Nexus One is officially off the list.

The good news, however, is that instead of the N1, Google recommends you buy the Droid Incredible, calling it ‘a powerful Android phone and similarly feature-packed cousin of the Nexus One.’

Shortly after the changes were made to the site, the Boy Genius Report published a statement by Google that read

We won’t be selling a Nexus One with Verizon, and this is a reflection of the amazing innovation happening across the open Android ecosystem.

Farewell rumors, hello solid information! Verizon has just put out a press release nailing down some details on the HTC Droid Incredible. We're all well acquainted with the stats by now, but we were unaware of the potential release date or price.

Well, on April 29th, for a cool $199 (After a $100 mail-in rebate) on a two year contract you can head down to your local Verizon store to get yourself some Snapdragon-powered, HTC Sense driven, Droidy goodness!

After an initial release in Canada, Zynga's latest attempt to addict millions of mobile gamers is now available to the greater Play Store. Eden to Green fits broadly in the tower defense genre, with a variety of flowers fighting off an army of invading machines. (So it's like Terminator meets The Happening.) The game is a free download, though device support seems a bit spotty: my ancient HTC Incredible shows as compatible, while my nearly-new Galaxy Note 8.0 does not.

It's been a couple months in coming, but the first in an episodic series of Avengers games is live on the Play Store now. In case you've forgotten, this edition features the Hulk, leading the effort to round up a number of supervillains that escaped during a breakout of The Vault. To celebrate the launch, Marvel and NVIDIA are offering the game for a special promo price of $4.99 (normally $6.99).

It's difficult to put out a $1.5 billion movie and not expect a few major product tie-ins. Marvel, today, "released" (we'll get to that in a bit) a new game for Android called "Avengers Initiative." This $7 app stars the Hulk, as the green loose cannon battles some of his most notorious villains, including Wendigo, the Abomination, and even the infamous Skrulls. The game will only be available for select Android devices to start with.

Ever since we started calling camera phones "phones," we've been trying as hard as we can to replace as much of our prohibitively expensive camera equipment as we can. Our phones' sensors have been beefed up to "actually pretty good" quality, we've seen several different attachable lenses. Now, thanks to Kickstarter, we've also found the last camera mounting accessory we'll ever need: the Slingshot, which functions as handheld stabilizer, mini tripod, and professional tripod mount.

We love giving stuff away here at AP, and today we have ten cases from Incipio to hand out to ten lucky readers. Incipio offers five main types of case: Dermashot, feather, Silicrylic, NGP, and Edge (they also make a case called "Step" for the Droid X2). I've recently spent some hands-on time with the Dermashot, feather, and Silicrylic models, so before we get into the giveaway, we're going to take a closer look at those.

The Hulu Plus app for Android has just been updated to v1.0.139 and adds support for 9 new devices:

  • HTC Incredible 2
  • HTC EVO 3D
  • HTC Sensation
  • Motorola Droid 3
  • Motorola Bionic
  • Motorola X2
  • LG Revolution
  • LG G2x
  • HTC Flyer

The only other change that's listed is "Improved playback performance." A small update, but significant for the devices it adds.

Here's to hoping that they continue to add devices at a healthy clip!
