Samsung-Galaxy-S2

It looks like Sammy has something up its sleeve that will be exposed for all to see on August 29th in New York City. Touting a "major product announcement," we can only assume it means one thing: the Galaxy S II. Just typing it fills me with excitement, as we'll finally be getting what is probably the best smartphone on the planet.

See that 'II' at the bottom? Subtle, Sammy. Real subtle.

When it comes to camera apps, it has been a while since I've really been wowed by anything I've seen. Most offer the same features - saturation, color effects, maybe some sort of Polaroid replica... you get the idea. I guess the dev team at JFDP Labs felt the same way, because they have put together the most impressive camera app that I've ever seen, simply called Paper Camera.

As I'm not one to enjoy doing large amount of typing on my mobile phone, I have a number of applications that make the job easier. These apps are usually employed to make quick, short notes that I can index and access later, therefore saving me a lot of trouble.

Coming to us from Singaporean developer 2nd Class Citizen, that's exactly what Chop Chop looks to do, only with some unique features the differentiate it from the rest.

No, it's not a joke, prank, or some cruel attempt to make you click things. This is for real. The first screenshots of Android Ice Cream Sandwich have been leaked to us as well as RootzWiki (who have two different screenshots featuring the launcher and app drawer we aren't showing here - so check them out). We're not going to build this up - you want the goods. Here's Ice Cream Sandwich running on a Nexus S:

What can we learn from these?

You can go ahead and add one more to the list of Honeycomb optimized apps, as cloud storage provider Box pushed out an official build of its app designed for Android 3.x earlier today.

Box is a cloud storage service similar to that of Dropbox, offering full content management and syncing. It seems to be geared more towards business users, as it offers more control over what users can access and edit, as well as integration with popular services like Google Apps and Microsoft Sharepoint.

The Droid Charge was the first 4G phone with Droid branding to hit VZW, and as such, has been the flagship phone of the Droid lineup since its release back in May. If you were to walk into a Big Red retail store and buy the Charge right now, you would leaving with $300 less than you went in with, and, lets face it, who wants to drop that much coin on a new phone?

Ruggedized - doesn't the word just conjur up images of a tiger eating a Toughbook?

When I received the J4M headphones from JLab, I was unsure of how "rugged" an in-ear headphone could actually be. So, I decided to treat them less than, shall we say, "gently" over the last few weeks.

Now, it's not like I've gone dunking them in water or buried them in sand at the beach - that kind of behavior is at your own risk.
