This marks the third entry into the "______ Story" series by the company, following their highly-successful Game Dev Story and the follow-up, Hot Springs Story. In Grand Prix, you take on the role of race team manager, developing and customizing cars, entering teams into races, and cultivating a stable of elite motorsport drivers.
Update: According to Engadget, it was just a miscommunication - the VZW spokeswoman was actually referring to the Galaxy Tab 10.1. We knew it was too good to be true.
If there's one device that a lot of us have been waiting on to hit US soil, it's the Samsung Galaxy S II. Reportedly called the Function, Attain, and Within on Verizon, AT&T, and Sprint respectively, this phone has been hotly anticipated ever since its debut at MWC back in February.
Call me a stickler, but I think games should play well before looking pretty. I think they should be functional, polished and most of all, not frustrating. This seems to elude most developers who insist on using on-screen joysticks for their products, as more often than not they're a buggy, non-responsive mess.
From having poorly-defined boundaries to not reacting to multi-touch well, the system seems to be a bit flawed.
Google announced a new update to Maps that would bring a much sought-after feature for those who use public transit in major cities: real-time updates that provide the whereabouts of busses. No longer will you have to hang out wondering when the bus is actually going to show up, because with the help of Maps, you'll have all of that info in the palm of your hand.
El Goog has teamed up with transit agencies to make this update happen, but there is one downside (for some people, anyway): it's only in four US cities as of right now.
Do you wish your XOOM was an ASUS Transformer - but leather? Motorola's got a new keyboard / leather folio case out for the XOOM, and it's on sale for a pretty reasonable $85. Spiffy. It's unknown if the keyboard is connecting via Bluetooth, but that seems like the most obvious way to go about doing this, as there's no mention of any sort of charging functionality, so we assume it's all done sans wires.
Update 6/8/11: If you're set to only order from Amazon for some reason, their EVO 3D pre-order page just went up as well with the same price.
The official launch date and price for the HTC EVO 3D was just announced this morning, but Wirefly already has a pre-order deal of its own going on. Right now, you can ensure that you'll have this device ready and waiting for you on launch day for $180 with a two-year agreement, which is about $20 less then you'll be paying at Sprint.
A few weeks ago, the Android community notched another victory: HTC formally announced it would no longer be locking its bootloaders, though they hadn't really worked out all the details yet. Add another device to the "it won't be locked, we just don't know how or when" list: the HTC Sensation.
Ah, yes, the infamous alot. ಠ_ಠ
The important bit of that wall of text:
If you've been considering the Droid Incredible 2 as your next phone, now is probably the best time to make the leap, as Wirefly has a pretty unbelievable deal going on: you can score this next-gen Droid for a mere $2 with a new two-year agreement (of course). If you're already a Verizon customer lookin' to grab this phone as an upgrade, it will still only set you back $50 (it's currently $200 at VZW).
Android's hottest new tablet - the Samsung Galaxy Tab 10.1 - is now available for pre-order at Best Buy. As we've heard before, New Yorkers have an especially sweet deal: Best Buy will be opening up sales today at noon at their Union Square store, and the first 200 purchasers will also get a free leather pouch. For the rest of us, the Tab is slated to go on sale on June 17.
Surprise, surprise - Rovio's about to issue the next major content update to Angry Birds Rio early! The Carnival update will be available on the Market shortly (exactly how long, we don't know), and we already have the basic changelog:
- 15 levels in new world named Carnival Upheaval
- Blue, the Macaw, can now be used alone.
- The new hidden fruits are papaya (thanks to everyone who helped us figure this out)
There's several iOS sites that are already reporting on the update, and Rovio stated 2 days ago that Carnival would be coming to Android at the same time as iOS:
We'll keep this post updated as we learn more.
