Verizon Galaxy S4 VRUAME7 Update Available Via Desktop Tool - Blocks Existing Root Methods And Patches Bootloader

Samsung Galaxy S4 owners on Verizon, there's a new update available for your phones. But don't bother checking your Settings menu for an over-the-air prompt: it's only available via the Verizon Software Upgrade Assistant after connecting the device to a PC. Standard users should be fine, but rooted users (or those who intend to root or flash a new ROM sometime in the future) should avoid this one. According to several posters on XDA, the VRUAME7 patches existing root methods, and flashes a new version of the locked bootloader that prevents users from flashing a pre-release kernel, effectively blocking another path to root.

Google+ Will Now Highlight What You +1 To Your Followers, With Your Permission

I wouldn't blame a person for thinking that their Facebook and Tumblr "likes" or Twitter "favorites" are private, but these things can all be viewed by their followers. This is also the case with Google+, only the service will now explicitly start highlighting posts that were +1'd by people in your circles. Naturally, this means that your posts may be shared with your followers as well. These posts will appear with a "+1" header.

Opera has been a stalwart of the desktop browser wars for many years now. It was besting Microsoft back when it was a viable business model to sell desktop browser licenses for cash money. [Delicious] Yelp Launches Yelp Platform - Order Food Or Services Directly Through Yelp, Coming Soon To Android

I love Yelp. In the US, it's the single best community-powered restaurant (and other place) rating platform available, and it consistently gets better. While it does have less of a following in some suburban and rural areas, for many city slickers Yelp is a way of life, and even as competing services have attempted to supplant it, Yelp has remained the most powerful tool of its kind.

From booking reservations via Open Table integration, checking in for discount offers, exploring the menu, or summarizing popular keywords to help you scout out the best food at a particular restaurant, Yelp really is kind of amazing.
