Don't worry. Just because we used the words "ping" and "social" in the same headline doesn't mean we're talking about that other social network. No, this is Seesmic Ping. From the developer who brought you the original Seesmic, Seemic Ping lets users post to Twitter, Facebook, and LinkedIn with one update. You can even do it from the past!

One of the biggest features of the Galaxy Tab series (minus the OG Tab) is TouchWiz UX and its mini-app tray. In fact, it was difficult for me to get used to the Transformer Prime after having the Galaxy Tab 10.1 because I miss those little apps so much. For the uninitiated, mini-apps in Touchwiz UX are small "portable" applications that run in an independent window on top of the foreground application.

Jawbone's popular JAMBOX Bluetooth speaker is going to be getting a younger, but much larger sibling dubbed simply BIG JAMBOX soon. This information comes from a recent FCC filing (via WirelessGoodness) which doesn't seem to reveal much of anything past the new name. However, armed with this knowledge, I was able to dig up an earlier report by iLounge which caught wind of something they called JAMBOX BIG back in November.

The guys behind the official Dropbox Android app have an enticing present for everyone to check out. They just released an experimental beta v2.0.9 that includes a brand new automatic Camera Upload feature. There are definitely third party apps out there that offer this same service, but it's nice to see the official version updating with some fresh new features.

Here's what you'll find:

  • The app can now automatically upload photos and videos in the background using Wi-Fi or your data plan.

Aviary, one of the web's most popular free image editors, has built a new nest in the Android market. The software, made by the company of the same name, is a powerful (for free software, anyway) photo editor that comes packed with effects, filters, and tools for sprucing up images. The Android version comes with some effects built in, with the option to shell out some cash for more.

You won't be getting any jobs on a Hollywood effects team with your creations in Aviary, but for most tasks you'd want to do on a phone, Aviary is fantastic.

atrix 2

Motorola Atrix 2 owners on AT&T are receiving an OTA update to v55.13.25, by AT&T reckoning. In Android versions, that would be 2.3.6, so sorry - no Ice Cream Sandwich for you, yet. Before your hopes are completely dashed, though, here are the full release notes:

    • Camera: Enhancements to deliver better overall picture taking experience so you never miss a moment
    • Google Music: Addition of Google Music application so you have greater access to the world of music.

Meet Yello, a fish that was probably named by a two-year-old because the child thought he looked vaguely yellowish and he doesn't really know how to spell. He also doesn't quite understand how fish breathe, because he's rather sadistically yanked Yello from his bowl for "a walk." It's up to you to save Yello... by yanking on his tail and flinging him into piles of things until he eventually lands in his bowl.

Tongue Tied, a young yet popular game for iOS has finally gotten the Android treatment from its creators at Mojo Bones Ltd, bringing the slapstick physics/platforming game to Android users everywhere today.

Tongue Tied fuses physics and platform gameplay styles with the wacky story of two dogs (Mick and Ralph) who are literally tongue tied. As shown in the video above, players can expect to bounce, swing, and jump through about 60 levels "in search of the elusive WonderBone."

Besides offering dozens of levels to play through, Tongue Tied has score-based medals for each level, as well as 33 extra challenges with "some of the most interesting unlockables you're likely to see!" Adding even more to the game's replay value are trick and bonus scoring systems, allowing advanced players to be rewarded for traversing each level with extra panache.

Xoobis brought the cartoon zombie-shooting fun of Zombie Wonderland to Android today, introducing Zombie Wonderland 2: Outta Time to the Android Market. The game centers around Chuck, a man with the rather unusual job title of Zombie Cleaner. Players are invited to shoot first and mop later, blowing through 25 types of zombies in over 30 missions, taking place in 12 unique locations.

Once you're done shooting up every zombie in sight, however, you must clean up the mess in order to please your clients.

Let this be a lesson to all major tech companies: if you have a ton of users and you want to enter a new market, you'd better charge some kind of arbitrary fee, lest you end up in trouble with the French judicial system. Google is feeling that sting this week, as a French court ordered the company to pay €500,000 in damages to Maps competitor Bottin Cartographs as well as a €15,000 fine.
