With the Mali-T400 running on the Galaxy SII, and the Mali-604 still in production, ARM is still racing ahead, releasing details surrounding the Mali-T658 GPU today - yet another next-gen chip that will support up to eight cores.

The T-658 is poised to improve on ARM’s T-604, allowing up to ten times the graphic performance of the current-gen T-400 chip (and 4 times the computing power), as well as enabling nice compatibility with ARM’s big.LITTLE architecture, which allows the set to switch dynamically between chips to achieve stunning power efficiency and performance under strain.

I guess Sprint and Samsung decided it was finally time to cater to the needs of all the Epic owners out there, as the official Gingerbread OTA update is officially rolling out. Aside from Gingerbread, the update offers up the usual: bug fixes, enhanced features, etc. Sprint kept the changelog short and sweet on this one, have a look:

  • Upgrade of the Google OS from Froyo to Gingerbread (Android 2.3)
  • Audible Sprint AIRAVE™ notifications when answering call
  • SMS messages sent without area code
  • PRL and Profile update
  • EAS (Exchange Activesync) email displaying HTML

Adobe-Flash-Player-Icon

Update: It looks like we can strip the rumor tag from this one -- Adobe made it official. Flash for mobile is dead. Check out the full details at the Adobe Blog. RIP, mobile Flash. You will be missed.

To clarify, Flash isn't going to just disappear from the Market, and in fact Adobe will continue to provide security patches. However, since they won't adapt it to new browser, OS, and device configurations, there is a chance it will stop working at some point in the future or won't work at all on newer devices.

PR ASUS Eee Pad Transformer Prime front Amethyst Gray

If there's one tablet that has been on the mind of Android fans all over, it's the ASUS Eee Pad Transformer Prime (which, from this point forward, will be know as either the Transformer Prime or simply "Prime" because the full name is just too bloody long). ASUS just unveiled the world's first quad-core Tegra 3 device, and it is a beast. It was originally scheduled to be shown off on November 9th, but as you may have heard, has been delayed until early December.

Tegra3_Chip

There's no doubt that the Tegra 3 is going to be the reigning champ of mobile chips when it's released -- its quad-core setup and brilliant design offers the best of both worlds where performance and battery life are concerned.

For low power tasks, the fifth core, known as the companion core, runs the show; as more powerful processes come into play, the high performance cores activate and deactivate as needed.

15-Galaxy-Tab-7-Plus

Earlier today, I received my review unit Galaxy Tab 7.0 Plus, Samsung's latest addition to the Tab family of products. Now, you probably thought, upon hearing about this little device, "gee, this is just another scaled-down version of the Galaxy Tab 10.1 - boring." But you thought wrong - very wrong.

15-Galaxy-Tab-7-Plus

The Tab 7.0 Plus has a little hardware secret in its diminutive package, and that secret's name is Exynos.

Following up on the popularity of Burn the Rope, the developers at Big Blue Bubble recently released Burn the Rope Worlds, a new game that improves on its predecessor by taking gameplay to a variety of new worlds, and introducing a few twists as well.

Players can now burn ropes through four new worlds, including Jungle, Mechanical, Fantasy and Space. Additionally, BTR Worlds brings a new mini game called "Endless Burn," which is essentially Burn the Rope's answer to the classic game Snake, the object being to collect as many bugs as possible without hitting a wall, your flame tail growing all the while.
