Another day, another awesome giveaway. Once again, our truly amazing pals at NVIDIA are providing the Tegra-powered tablet goodies. Today, we're giving away four tablets: 2 Sony Tablet S's, and 2 ASUS Transformers (the Transformers also come with the truly great keyboard docks) - and every winner will also receive a $25 AMEX gift card to purchase some of those sweet Tegra Zone games the day their prize arrives. This is an international contest.
Looks like Sprint started pushing a small OTA update to the Samsung Epic 4G Touch that fixes a couple of quirky issues:
- 4G Sprint Hotspot disconnects when in a phone call
- Radio loses signal and may require power cycle
The update is rolling out in stages and will hit all devices within the next 10 days.
The amount of quality games for Android just keep growing, and show no signs of slowing anytime soon. To add to the list of OMG that looks incredible! games, SoulCraft THD will be coming to Tegra-powered phones and tablets later this month, bringing an action packed holy war to the palm of your hand.
The premise of the game is pretty sick: humans are on the verge of discovering the key to eternal life, but the angels and demons have something to say about that.
Well, it's finally here – Verizon's variant of the hotly anticipated Galaxy Nexus is available at last, going live with a variety of online retailers just moments ago.
Update: We've also got the images for the newest update to the Galaxy Nexus, Android 4.0.2:
Google Android software engineer Jean-Baptiste Queru has just let loose a factory image of the Verizon Galaxy Nexus, meaning developers now have an official software build to recover from bricks and to tinker with to their hearts' contents. You can find the image, ITL41D, here. The post also indicates more Verizon Galaxy Nexus goodies will be coming later, so we'll keep you updated as more is released.
With the launch of the Galaxy Nexus, there's a good chance that many users left their current carrier to go with Verizon. Since Big Red no longer offers unlimited data plans, keeping tabs on your data usage is an absolute must. For that, Onavo is here to help, and the most recent update to its app makes monitoring your usage even easier.
The new widgets include App Watch, which helps you keep track of how much data is being used an a per-app basis; a data plan used widget, which offers a quick look at where you're at for the month (with percentage used); and a live data usage 1x4 that shows how much data you've used in the last 30 minutes.
If you're the proud new owner of a Galaxy Nexus on Verizon, then your device should be receiving its first OTA update sometime today. It's mostly a bug-fixer, with a few optimizations thrown into the mix:
There must be something weird going on with manufacturers lately - first Huawei released an alpha build of ICS for the Honor, and now Sony Ericsson (soon to be just Sony) has released an ICS ROM for certain unlocked Xperia devices, including the Arc S, Neo V, and Ray.
Since it's an alpha ROM, it's not made for day-to-day use, as it is limited to just a few functions at the moment.
There's no doubt that a good number of you are foaming at the mouth waiting to get your hands on the Galaxy Nexus, which is finally available today. While we've already seen a few sites drop the price a bit, none have been able to match the price that LetsTalk is offering the GN for: $155 for new customers, $175 for upgrades. That's half-off the price that VZW is asking for new customers!
Unfortunately, all good things must come to an end, and the awesome 10 Billion Apps promo, sadly, reached its final day. I wish it could go on forever and become a regular thing, at least with one app a day - how about it, Google?
Today, we have 8 new apps/games and 4 repeats. Here they are:
- Camera Zoom FX

- Puffle Launch
