If there's one thing we love more than tower defense games, it's tower defense games that take a new angle or offer a different style of gameplay. That's exactly what we got out of the recently-released title Defenders, which lets you take on a more active role in your defense strategy. Check it out:

The game looks easy to pick-up-and-play, with ultra-simple controls: touch the screen to shoot arrows, drag and drop spell icons to cast.

It seems that invitees to Google's big not-yet-officially-about-Google-Music-event have just received a second invitation - to the after party. Oh, and Maroon 5, Busta Rhymes, Dirty South, R3hab, and Drake will all be in attendance - and so will we.  We'll be watching the earlier event via livestream along with most everyone else (space is apparently very limited), but Android Police will present for the post-event-event Wednesday night, below. We're excited.

Wow, this happened sooner than we expected - but Google just announced only minutes ago that the source code for Android 4.0.1 Ice Cream Sandwich is on its way to Google's AOSP tree right now. We'll update as we learn more. Here's the original post:

Hi! We just released a bit of code we thought this group might be interested in.
Over at our Android Open-Source Project git servers, the source code
for Android version 4.0 (Ice Cream Sandwich) is now available.

Plan on kicking your current carrier to the curb so you can switch to Big Red and grab the LTE-packin' HTC Rezound? Want to save yourself a hundred bucks in the process? If so, head on over to Amazon Wireless, where you can snag the Rezound for $200 ($229 for existing customers looking to upgrade). Yeah, that's a pretty nice savings, and it definitely beats walking into VZW and dropping three full Benjamins.

If you're just dying to get some of AT&T's LTE action packed in tablet without having to mortgage your house, then Samsung may just be your new best friend. The Samsung Galaxy Tab 8.9 is coming to Ma Bell on November 20 for an on-contract price of $480, and if you pick one up early on, you can score a free Galaxy S II Skyrocket or Galaxy S II. The inclusion of the phone requires a two-year agreement, but if you're already signing a couple of years away on the tablet contract, you might as well go ahead and score a free beastly phone while you're at it.

The YouTube app just received an update to bring a few new features, including a +1 button, "watch later" queue, and the ability to upload while editing video info, along with one unexpected issue. The app description now says it's for Android 2.2-2.3.3, and, as a result, isn't showing up on devices running other versions, including Honeycomb tablets. Despite this, I was able to pull the update on my Incredible running CM7 (Android 2.3.7), although Artem couldn't even see YouTube in the Market on his stock rooted Epic 4G Touch (Android 2.3.4).

Beyond Ynth may not be the most catchy title in the world, but the game has already proved to be a big hit on the iOS App Store for both iPhone and iPad.

If you're familiar with the game, you'll no doubt be pleased to know that it has made the big jump across to the Android world, and is now available to buy from the Market for $3.99.

The game itself is quite simple: you must complete various puzzles on multiple levels, recovering stolen diamonds along the way.

Sprint

In order to remain competitive, Sprint is constantly tweaking its data plans for non-smartphone devices like tablets, mobile hotspots, and laptops. The most recent update to the plans came today, which offers an increase in bandwidth, as well as a drop in price -- always a good combination.

These changes apply to non-smartphone devices only. Smartphones still have unlimited data.

Beginning immediately, The Now Network will be offering 6GB of data for $49.99 and 12GB for $79.99; if that's too much bandwidth for you, though, there is a 1GB option (tablets only) for $19.99, as well as a 3GB plan (tablets and mobile hotspots only) for $34.99.

More often than not, we scoff at Amazon's free premium app of the day, because, let's face it -- there isn't much that screams premium about most of them. That's not the case today, however, because QuickOffice Pro and Pro HD (for Honeycomb tablets) are both free in the Amazon Appstore.

QuickOffice Pro

QuickOffice Pro/Pro HD are both great office suites for anyone who needs to edit or view documents, spreadsheets, or powerpoint presentations on the go, and for today's price, you can't beat them.

We knew that ASUS would be far from the only manufacturer working on a new tablet featuring the beastly NVIDIA Tegra 3 and Ice Cream Sandwich, and Engadget got their hands on some exclusive details of an upcoming Lenovo tablet that looks to give the Transformer Prime a run for its money. The tablet, said to be out by the end of the year, not only packs the Tegra 3, but 2GB of DDR3 RAM, a full-size USB port, a "fusion-skin body," and a fingerprint scanner/optical joystick on the backside, all powered by Android 4.0.
