Sprint's Galaxy Nexus Landing Page Accidentally (Doesn't) Tease Galaxy Nexus 2

As Nexus season progresses, and as we approach Google's October 29th event, rumors and speculation are reaching a fever pitch. Tonight, we caught sight of a story over at Gizmo Fusion pointing out a suspicious Sprint landing page potentially teasing Samsung's mythical Galaxy Nexus 2 so many fans have been hoping for.

The page in question (which one of our readers, Freak4Dell, also noticed) is Sprint's landing page for the original Galaxy Nexus which, for at least two days now, has had an interesting title – "Samsung Galaxy Nexus 2 – 4g Android Smartphone from Sprint".

Motorola Droid RAZR HD And RAZR MAXX HD Go Live At Amazon, Verizon Wireless For $199.99, $299.99 On Contract

Right on schedule, Motorola's Droid RAZR HD (which has already been rooted thanks to Dan Rosenberg) and RAZR MAXX HD have arrived to market. Both devices are now live on Verizon's site along with Amazon Wireless.

As expected, the RAZR HD is available in either white or black for $199.99 on contract from Amazon or Verizon, while the RAZR MAXX HD goes for $299.99.

American Red Cross Releases 'Wildfires' App, Helps You Keep Your Cool When Things Get Hot

The American Red Cross has been releasing a series of apps to help people deal with disasters. We've already seen apps dedicated to hurricanes and earthquakes, as well as one for first aid. The fourth app in the series just hit he Play Store, and this one's designed to keep people safe during a wildfire.

Play Store Wishlists Are Rolling Out Right Now!

The teardowns never lie! You know how we've been telling you the Play Store is getting a Wishlist feature? It's rolling out now on a per-account basis. You don't have to download anything, everything is already built into 3.9.16. Wishlists are basically a bookmark feature, which lets you save a list of apps.

Breaking: Google Is Holding An Android Event On October 29th

An invite for an Android event held by Google just hit our inbox - on October 29th, in New York, we'll be seeing the latest and greatest from Google in regard to its mobile operating system.

It has been widely speculated that the focus of this event will be on two things: a new Nexus phone, and Android 4.2. It's becoming increasingly apparent that Android 4.2 is a fairly incremental update to the OS (see our teardowns of an alpha build of 4.2, here and here), so the focus has largely shifted to the next Nexus.

Google Releases Official Google Calendar App On The Play Store (For 4.0.3+ Devices)

Google has just released the official Google Calendar app on the Play Store, to the joy of, well, probably everyone who isn't using a Nexus phone or a custom ROM. This is the same app you'll find in stock Android, packaged up and ready for individual consumption. This also means Google will be able to update the Calendar app directly from the Play Store, instead of in Android releases as part of the Google Apps package.

ASUS Transformer Pad Infinity Receiving Incremental Update To v10.4.4.18, Brings Several Bug Fixes

A small update is making is way to the ASUS Transformer Pad Infinity (TF700), bringing a slew of minor bug fixes along with it. We actually got our hands on a changelog this time (a rarity for ASUS):

  • Fix the issue that switching to front camera in Facebook app would cause Facebook app to crash.

Wi-Fi (All SKUs)

  • Fix the issue that some 802.1x Wi-Fi APs cannot be connected after upgrading to Jelly Bean.

Nova Launcher And TeslaUnread Updated With Support For More Unread Notifications

Looks like it's been quite a busy day for the guys over at TeslaCoil software: they just pushed updates to both Nova Launcher and TeslaUnread, the add-on app that allows Nova and WidgetLocker to display unread counts. The two updates go hand-in-hand, so let's start with the latter.

TU's update brings support for several more services, including Samsung Email, HTC Email, AOSP Email, Motorola Email, K-9, Google Voice, and Google Reader.
