Today has been a great day for those looking to get their hands on Samsung's Galaxy Tab 10.1. Earlier, we saw the 10.1 on sale from Daily Steals at $340 with free shipping, and now Woot is offering a refurbished 16GB 10.1 for just $319.99 with $5 shipping. If you're worried about the Tab's "refurbished" status, don't fret – this usually just means you'll receive a unit that was purchased and returned, possibly even unopened.

If you're a Total SMS Control user, you may be interested in the latest findings of our good buddy Justin Case. He uncovered some rather alarming info within the app, and by alarming, I mean a crapload of exposed data, including SMS messages, emails, call logs, phone numbers, contact information, and GPS location. Yeah.

For the uninitiated, Total SMS Control is an app used to "spy" on other mobile phones. For example, if you install TSC on your child's (or spouse, employee, etc.) phone, it will sit silently in the background collecting emails, text messages, GPS location, and more.

Who doesn't love casually paging through catalogs just looking at... whatever? Wouldn't it be nice to kick back on the couch and have access to dozens of different catalogs at your fingertips without having ridiculous stacks of books laying around? Enter Google Catalogs, an app for Android-powered tablets that allows you do to just that.

The app offers access to a slew of different catalog categories, like women's fashion, jewelry, beauty, home, men's fashion, gift, toys, and more.

PR-ASUS-Eee-Pad-Transformer-Prime-front-Amethyst-Gray_thumb1

While we have basically all of the info about the ASUS Transformer Prime, we are missing one of the most important details of all: the release date. ASUS has yet to unveil this last detail, but Newegg is pegging the Prime for a December 8th release date on its pre-order page.

While Newegg is usually a pretty reliable source that isn't quick to just slap a random date on device pre-orders, I would still take this with a grain of salt until ASUS makes the announcement itself.

Okay, I have some good news and some bad news. First, the good: Google has decided to extend next year's I/O convention to three days instead of the usual two! That's more time to spend hitting the booths, attending sessions, and chatting it up with the Google devs. Awesome.

Oh, the bad news - since the event is now three days long, the dates for the event have been pushed back a couple of months.

In the past couple of months, I've covered more than a dozen mobile security apps, carefully weighing the pros and cons of each, and determining their relative values. I've spent time with 17 apps in all, and it's about time to wrap up the series, and tell you, the end user, which apps are your best bet for protecting your Android device(s).

Before I get to the nitty-gritty of which app is best, I think it'd be helpful to review what we've covered so far, to get a clear grasp on each of the solutions we've covered.

Earlier today via its Facebook page, LG announced that it would be bringing ICS to a number of "high-end" devices, including the Optimus 2x, Optimus Black, Optimus 3D, and Optimus LTE. Other LG devices are still on the chopping block, as they are currently being evaluated "to determine whether [ICS] is compatible with the functionality, features, and performance of other LG smartphones."

More details, including an upgrade schedule and specific model information, should be available and posted on the LG Facebook page sometime next month.
