Rise Of Glory Review: Biplanes And Machine Guns, Two Great Tastes That Go Great Together

I've been a fan of air combat games for years, but most titles of this sort are done in a very "arcade" way with simplified controls. This is not the case with Rise of Glory – it's a real air combat game. This title was originally released as an Xperia exclusive, but it was recently opened up to more devices. This is one of those games that gives you a free taste before upselling you on the full version through an in-app purchase.

Gameloft Releases Extended Trailer For Modern Combat 4: Zero Hour, Blows Our Minds

It's pretty crazy to look at where we are with mobile games right now. Just a few short years ago, the most graphically impressive games we could get on our handsets were really anything but impressive. Now, we have games like Shadowgun, Dead Trigger, and Horn that take mobile gaming to a level that was good enough for the PC not all that long ago.

Gameloft has just released the trailer for Modern Combat 4: Zero Hour, which looks like it will raise the bar for mobile graphics even higher.

The Case That Isn't There: We Review The DodoCase for Nexus 7

Cases for my devices fall into two camps: there are cases that are merely "there," and cases that "do." The cases in the first camp usually don't serve any other purpose besides scratch/scuff prevention, and the latter group add some utility, usually in the form of bells and whistles. However useful they are, though, is typically offset by one fact: they usually look like ass.

So when I laid my eyes on a DodoCase for the first time, I had a little bit of an epiphany.

Call Of Duty: Black Ops Zombies Review – One More Zombie Shooter That Manages To Stay Interesting

There's no such thing as too many zombies, right? That seems to have been Glu Mobile's general idea when bringing Call of Duty: Black Ops – Zombies (or CODBOZ) to Android. The game, which itself is based on a spin-off of the original Call of Duty series, puts CoD players in familiar territory with a seemingly endless stream of zombies to eliminate in a game spanning not only multiple environments, but multiple gameplay modes as well.

Barnes & Noble To Debut NOOK Video Store - Viacom, Warner, HBO And More On Board As Launch Partners

Going where no book store has gone before (as far as I'm aware), Barnes & Noble announced that it's launching a movie streaming and download service today called NOOK Video. The storefront will offer streaming options from a variety of content partners like Viacom, Warner Bros, HBO, and others. B&N also plans to launch a companion app for the service, which will presumably be available on a variety of Android phones and tablets, as well as the company's Android-powered NOOK tablets.

Voxel Invaders Is A Galaga-Like Space Shooter That Thinks Two Dimensions Just Isn't Enough

You seen one top-scrolling space shooter, you've seen 'em all, am I right? No, as a matter of fact, I am not. Voxel Invaders is here to prove that. Take a look at the trailer below and you see that the game starts off simple enough. Some nice, 3D-ish graphics adorn an otherwise banal battleground. Or so it seems. Until around ten seconds into the video, when the world shifts and we see things from a whole new perspective.

ASUS Pushing Jelly Bean To The Transformer Prime (TF201) In Sweden, No Word On Other Countries

The once flagship device of ASUS' Transformer family, the Prime, is now getting its official taste of Jelly Bean in Sweden. This marks the first Android 4.1 OTA to the Prime, coming more than a month after its more affordable cousin, the Transformer Pad 300, saw the update.

ASUS notes on its Swedish Facebook page that this update will kill flash support in the Play Store, but it also lovingly provides a link to Adobe's site, where the player can still be downloaded.

[Video] Most Galaxy S III Devices Are Not Vulnerable To USSD Wiping Exploit: It Was Already Fixed In An Update

Update: We have confirmation that this exploit is also fixed in Jelly Bean, as well, so any device running Android 4.1 should be safe.

There has been a lot of misinformation floating around this morning about an alleged "exploit" on Samsung phones that allows the entire device to be wiped from the browser using what's called a USSD code.

[Update: Not Just Samsung] Exploit Could Force Factory Reset On Many Android Phones

Update 2: This exploit probably won't work on most Galaxy S III's as long as they have the most recent OTA update, as we demonstrate on video here.

Update: This issue is, unsurprisingly, a lot more nuanced than the video here lets on. The bug is based in the stock Android browser, is in fact quite old, and has been patched in more recent builds of Android - this is probably why Nexus devices running the most recent OTAs are unaffected.
