We got a look at the Excite 10 LE's at CES when it was called the Excite X10. Now, Toshiba is bringing the thinnest and lightest tablet* to the US market. The Excite 10 LE is identical to the Excite X10 aside from a couple of letters being rearranged. The slate still packs a "multicore" OMAP processor under a 10.1" LED screen. Unfortunately, the device will be launching with Honeycomb (3.2), but is "upgradeable to Android 4.0."

Those of us who grew up in the 90s undoubtedly remember Another World (Out of This World in North America), a mysterious cinematic platformer created by Eric Chahi. I have forgotten all about it, but after hearing the name and seeing a single screenshot this morning, immediately flashed back to the days I spent playing it as a kid. No other game at the time but Dune instilled such suspense in me, and seeing news of the 20th Anniversary Edition coming to Android was the perfect way to start the day.

Popular game, book, and textbook site Half.com (owned and operated by eBay) now has an official app, and as with just about every other shopping app, it allows you to browse the virtual store shelves, search for specific items, and place orders. It also includes a nifty barcode scanner to help make sure you snag the right item (and don't get ripped off... *ahem* college bookstores).

With the Half.com Android application you can buy media titles in books, textbooks, movies, music, games and game systems - anytime, anywhere.

Just a few days after allegedly adding its NYC market to the list of 2012 LTE rollout locations, Sprint has evidently begun planning to light up the Los Angeles Metro area by the end of 2012 as well.

Sprint's Los Angeles Metro market currently spans all of Los Angeles County, including Avalon and Santa Catalina. According to S4GRU, Orange County, North LA, Riverside/San Bernardino, San Diego, and Lower Central Valley are included in different markets, and are expected to deploy some time after Los Angeles.

Sony officially unveiled the Sony Tablet P at IFA last August, but we have yet to see it here in the U.S. despite its release in other parts of the world. For those of you that don't remember, this unique tablet features two 5.5-inch LCD displays that fold over one another much like a Nintendo DS. What's neat about having two individual screens is that you can use use them for different functions simultaneously, so multitasking is a bit easier.

We trotted on over to the NVIDIA boot at MWC in Barcelona this morning, and happened upon the newest tablet offering from Toshiba, the AT270. Officially unnamed at this point, the device is packing a 7.7" SAMOLED 1280x800 display, a Tegra 3 processor, Wi-Fi, and 32GB of storage (it's unknown if this is the standard amount). It's also running Android 4.0.

Playing with the device was a fairly pleasant experience - though an attendee using the AT270 right before us managed to lock up the device on the unlock screen.

The Ice Cream Sandwich-packing Galaxy Tab 2 it may not be, but the Galaxy Tab 7.7 that Verizon unveiled at CES last month still isn’t to be dismissed out of the gate – the now-official tablet will be arriving in stores on March 1st, complete with:

    • 7.7 inch, 1280×800 Super AMOLED Plus display
    • 1.4 GHz Dual-Core processor
    • Android 3.2 with Touchwiz
    • 16 GB storage
    • 3 MP rear camera with LED flash
    • 2 MP front-facing camera
    • 7.9 mm thickness
    • SD card slot
    • LTE

Sure, Android 3.2 (Honeycomb) is a tad outdated, but still, it would be hard to resist the largest Super AMOLED Plus display to date, right?

While at the Google booth earlier today, ASUS was kind enough to let us take a look at the upcoming Transformer Pad Infinity (basically, a beefed up TF Prime), albeit a version we had not yet seen.

The TF700KG is likely going to be a Europe-only device (unless it were to be picked up by a major carrier here in the US), as it has a 4G LTE SIM slot on it, and runs on a Qualcomm S4 MSM8960 dual-core processor.
