If you've downloaded anything Temple Run-related from the Android Market, you've been scammed. We do our best to keep you informed, but this app in particular seems to spark a lot of fakes. Thankfully, Imangi Studios, the developer behind Temple Run, announced on their Facebook page that the app isn't out yet, but when it is the company will announce it at least a week in advance.

The sheer number of scam apps that have been appearing in the Android Market is astounding.

One of the biggest restrictions that we face as Android users is "device incompatibility" issues in the Market, even though the app in question may work perfectly on our device. For example, according to the Android Market, Plants Vs. Zombies is "incompatible" with my Galaxy Tab 10.1; however, when it was initially released to the Amazon Appstore (and before Popcap was bought by EA), I always played it on the Tab.

My favorite gallery replacement app QuickPic, which is notorious for its speed and simplicity, just got updated with a brand new spiffy UI based on the new Android design guidelines that were published at the time of the Ice Cream Sandwich release.

The new UI in v2.0 is now much cleaner and more fluid, with action buttons at the top right and context buttons showing up dynamically on the bottom when they're needed.

A few months ago, Liam spent some time with 17 mobile security apps, one of which was an app called Cerberus. He came away quite impressed - so impressed, in fact, that he crowned it the winner (and, as a license is just $4, it was also crowned the best for the budget-minded).

The app is always free to download and comes with a 1 week free trial, but a lifetime license is normally $4.

A mysterious update for Chrome for Android just landed in the Market; at this point, though, it's not entirely clear what this update does, as a changelog is seemingly absent from the listing.

Update: Here's the changelog:

Chrome for Android Beta has been updated to 0.16.4215.215, picking up changes that have gone in through Chrome 16.0.912.77.  Beyond the Chrome changes, this update contains:

  • Android Beam support - now beam URLs from Chrome to other devices with NFC.

We love giving stuff away, which is why we do it so often. As you probably know, we normally tell you guys to leave a comment, like a Facebook page, retweet a message, or something similar, and then we pick a winner at random. Today, however, we're going to do something a little bit different.

We're going to play trivia.

Not Android trivia, either (that would be too easy). We're going to play "Oscar Trivia." So, how are we going to do this?

You may not think of Fashion Week as the best place to announce a new phone, but Acer sure does. The company just showed off its CloudMobile phone—not to be confused with its AcerCloud service—in Milan. Packing a 4.3", 720p display, a dual-core 1.5 GHz processor, NFC and Ice Cream Sandwich, the device actually doesn't look too bad on paper.

ALLOFTHEBUTTONS

Unfortunately, "on paper" is the most reliable information we can get right now.

The Samsung Galaxy Note (and its unheard of size) has been a hot topic since its AT&T release this past week, and we have seen quite a few conflicting opinions on the practicality of the device over the last few days. Many say that the gigantic screen prevents users from carrying it around comfortably, while others claim that it doesn't feel much different than any other phone. I've had the pleasure of using the Note for the past week, and I must say that I am incredibly impressed.

Yesterday, we took a look at the first pair of ASUS MWC teasers uploaded to the company's YouTube channel. It has now uploaded the third teaser, and, honestly, we're at a loss on this one. Have a look:

Perhaps the company is working on some sort of digital canvas? Honestly, we're not sure what to make of this teaser, and, truth be told, we're not even sure if it's Android related at all.

Like clockwork this time, the Ice Cream Sandwich update is now being sent over-the-air to Transformer TF101 owners in the United States and Canada.

ASUS UK, which also promised the OTA today, assured us it's still coming:

To those asking, TF101 ICS update is scheduled to be with you all today. Please be patient, we have a whole world of Tablets to update ;)

Update: Looks like it's rolling out worldwide at this point.
