Pay-as-you-go service is getting more and more appealing with each passing day, and Virgin Mobile just announced the Samsung Galaxy Reverb - an Android 4.0 handset that should offer a decent amount of bang for the buck.

Specs:

  • 4" display
  • 1.4GHz single-core processor
  • 768MB RAM
  • 5MP rear shooter
  • 122.40mm x 64.20mm x 11.40mm, 128.7g
  • Android 4.0

While those specs are mediocre compared to the flagship phones of today, it's hard to deny the allure of a device that goes for $249 without contract on a carrier that offers equally as affordable plans.

The list is a fairly long one, so let's start with the 7 cities that are waking up with 4G LTE today...

  1. Anchorage, AK
  2. Bakersfield, CA
  3. Bridgeport, CT
  4. Modesto, CA
  5. Jacksonville, FL
  6. Omaha, NE
  7. Syracuse, NY

In addition to this, the following cities will all receive 4G LTE 'by the end of the year'...

Catch Notes, the popular note taking app, has been updated to v5.0, with a number of improvements that make it easier to quickly take notes and collaborate with other users.

The most obvious addition in this latest update, which is only available for phones at the moment, is the introduction of the Catch capture wheel. The capture wheel is accessible from the bottom of the screen and allows you to create new voice, photo, and text notes with one tap.

I just got back from New York, the city of absolutely no internet, and now I can finally tell you about my experiences with the new RAZRs - the DROID RAZR HD 4G LTE, DROID RAZR HD MAXX 4G LTE, and DROID RAZR M 4G LTE. (My shift key is going to get a workout today!)

The design and construction of all 3 phones is basically the same. A stitched Kevlar back with a rubber coating, a plastic body, and an industrial-style design with exposed, prominent screws.

With over 10 hours of "story-driven campaign," TWB: Shogun will certainly fill up some free time, and its touch-intuitive interface will provide the best experience possible.

With the end of another month, we now have another set of Android platform distribution numbers to look at. Updated today, the stats reveal that Gingerbread is still dominating by quite a large margin, with Ice Cream Sandwich climbing and Jelly Bean making its own gains. Take a look for yourself:

First up is Gingerbread. While its stranglehold on the distribution chart is still going strong, it has dropped off just a little bit since the last cycle, sliding from 60.3% of all devices to 57.5% last month.

There are puzzle games. Then, there are puzzle games. If you're a fan of having your brain melted, then Noodlecake Studios' new game HueBrix might fit the bill perfectly.

If Tetris, snake, and one of those "unblock" games had a baby, it would be HueBrix. The goal of the game is to "drag paths from block to fill out the puzzle grid." Sounds easy enough, right? Sure, but each color block only allows a path of a certain length and orientation.

After Motorola's big event today, we didn't figure much of anything else interesting would be going on. We were wrong - numerous sources have confirmed to TheVerge that Amazon is legitimately, actually working on a smartphone. We totally pretended to call it.

Those same sources say that Amazon's phone is yet to be totally finished, but that we may see a prototype tomorrow at Amazon's event in Los Angeles.

Today, something happened that has not happened in an age: I actually got excited while watching a Motorola event. Don't get me wrong, the devices were still middling at best (though the RAZR M does seem kind of snazzy). What happened wasn't that Motorola announces some earth-shattering devices. No, this was more important: Motorola got its groove back. Or, perhaps more accurately, Motorola started syncing its old groove up with Google's current one.
