Chrome Beta For Android Receives Its First Update, Brings Several Bug Fixes

Well, that was fast – the beta channel of Chrome for Android just became a thing four days ago, and the browser has already received its first update. Granted, it's just a bunch of bug fixes, but it's still something.

This bumps the browser up to v25.0.1364.33 and fixes the following issues:

  • 164632 - Edit Bookmark is broken
  • 167351 - Youtube video controls are lost after returning from fullscreen
  • 167016 - Some Samsung Galaxy S2 freezes
  • 168062 - Double tapping on non-zoomable sites scrolls the page to the top briefly before returning to original position
  • 167379 - Sometimes tabswitcher is frozen
  • 166998 - Tab content stretched out while returning to it through side swipe gesture
  • 168632 - Crash - Stack Signature: TabAndroidImpl::FromWebContents
  • 168388 - Sync signed in info text's font size is too small
  • 168430 - Bookmark star icon doesn't turn grey/white immediately after bookmarking URL /deleting URL from bookmarks

Of course, it's still beta, and that can only mean one thing: there area still plenty more bugs to squash.

Motorola Photon Q Receiving Minor OTA Update (Software Version ASA-14)

If you have a Motorola Photon Q, time to start the ritualistic checking for updates: a new OTA is headed out this morning. Software version 7.7.1Q-6_SPR-125_ASA-14, the first update since the ASA-10 maintenance release in October, will get your Q running the latest and greatest. And no, it's not Jelly Bean (though the Q will be getting Jelly Bean... at some point). The changelog isn't much of a log, either:

- Various fixes to improve overall device stability

But hey, bug fixes are bug fixes, and that's probably going to make someone somewhere happy.

This Awesome Homescreen Uses Photos Of Real Objects As App Icons, Is Beautiful

Forget skeuomorphism. Why do we need things that look like objects if we can just use actual objects? That's what reddit user and notable George Bruns ballad davy_crockett thought. Using a combination of Apex launcher's ability to resize the icon grid and MultiPicture Live Wallpaper to use multiple photos for different homescreens, he created a layout that's made up entirely of real-world things. Tapatalk HD Leaves Beta, Is On One-Day Only Sale For $0.99 In The Play Store

Back in late December, Tapatalk HD beta left the forum-only download arrangement and made its way into the Play Store as a free download. Now, the beta period has ended, the aforementioned freebie is no more, and the first stable client is available.
