Google likes to adjust the Play Store more or less continuously, changing things in big or small ways for a small subset of users before rolling things out (or not) to Android at large. The latest updates to the app seem to be appearing for only a few people, presumably via server-side changes. It's nothing particularly huge - you might not even notice them if you're not looking for them - but it's the sort of tweak we live for. Read More

Google will most likely take the wraps off Android O at I/O this year, possibly with a developer preview for us to test. What's going to happen in Android O? No one is sure yet, but 9to5Google has posted a few rumors. These are all unconfirmed, but we may see changes to notifications, icon tweaks, picture-in-picture, and more. Or it might have none of these things. That's the thing about rumors. Read More
Spigen is one of my personal favorite phone case manufacturers. Its cases are consistently well made, with quality materials, and precision crafting. They also are affordable, which makes this deal lovin' nerd very happy. If you've pre-ordered an LG G6 or are planning on picking one up soon, then Spigen should be on your list of companies to choose from when selecting your case. Especially since they just handed us some exclusive Amazon coupon codes that will drop the price of six different LG G6 cases and a tempered glass screen protector by 60%. Nice cases, at nice prices, what's not to like? Read More
Back in February, the YouTube app on Android added the ability to livestream straight from your phone/tablet, much like Periscope and Instagram Live. There was one catch - your channel needed at least 10,000 subscribers to use the feature. Now Google appears to be dropping that requirement, expanding live streaming to even more users. Read More
Tag Heuer recently announced a new absurdly-expensive Android Wear watch, the Tag Heuer Connected Modular 45 (that's a mouthful). Now Montblanc, a well-known German manufacturer for luxury watches and other items, has announced its first smartwatch - the Summit.
Available in a variety of cases and straps, the Summit reminds me a bit of the LG G Watch Urbane in terms of design. It's definitely a large watch, with a case diameter of 46mm. While on the topic of design, even though it looks like the Summit has a digital crown, that's just a button.
As for the hardware, it's rocking a Snapdragon Wear 2100 processor, 4GB of storage, 512MB of RAM, and Bluetooth and Wi-Fi connectivity. Read More
LG's bootloop problems have become the butt of the joke online over the past few months. While Samsung was busy cooling down the fire of its Note7 fiasco, LG was getting heat over its freezing LG G4 and V10, among other devices (like the Nexus 5 and 5X). Many reports were surfacing of these phones getting stuck in a bootloop vicious circle, turning on and off, not properly booting, and leaving the owners without any recourse but to ask for a replacement unit... if they were still under warranty.
Now these owners are seeking their day in court thanks to a new class-action lawsuit filed to the California federal court. Read More
Free stuff is free stuff, no matter what it is. All the better, then, when you like what's being offered. In this case, Google Play is offering HBO's Game of Thrones season 5 in standard definition, which should please a large proportion of people.
Game of Thrones, the TV adaptation of the popular novel series, A Song of Ice and Fire, by George R. R. Martin, will surely go down a treat with Google Play shoppers in the US (sorry, everyone else - it looks like you're out of luck here). Read More
WhatsApp's history with GIFs has taken us through a long winding road until the app added proper GIF sharing and then searching. The latter, however, was only supported through WhatsApp's own "keyboard," i.e. the emoji panel. You had to show the built-in emoji picker then switch to the GIF tab at the bottom. Like many of us noticed, that still left WhatsApp without official support for Google's own Gboard and its ability to insert GIFs directly from the keyboard.
With the latest beta, WhatsApp has fixed that. Now the GIF tab in Gboard is no longer greyed and stricken out while using WhatsApp. Read More
