Breaking: Nexus 5 Prototype Bares All In Leaked Crystal Clear 7-Minute HD Video

A crystal clear 7-minute video of the Nexus 5 (I think we can accept that's going to be the name at this point) was just leaked on the web. It's an older build than the one leaked by TuttoAndroid yesterday, but look - it's the Nexus 5 hardware in the clearest shots we've seen yet! smartphones.sfr.fr appears all over it, so the full credit for this leak goes out to them.

[Rumor] Google's New Launcher In Android 4.4 Is Called 'Google Experience' - Here Are Some Things We Are Expecting To See In It

Several days ago, I started a series of rumor posts on my personal Google+ account discussing some Android rumors I felt were interesting enough to share, but didn't feel confident enough yet to do so here on the site. The posts were heavily prefixed with disclaimers that none of them may turn out to be true but that I had a certain level of confidence to talk about them in public unofficially.

Google Adds A Handy Tip Calculator To Search, Complete With Percent And Split Options

Search the Play Store for "tip calculator" and you'll probably find over nine thousand different ways to cut up gratuity. But now you don't need them: Google has added a tip calculator to its ubiquitous search engine on the mobile app and the web. Just search for "what's the tip for forty dollars" (or any amount you'd care to name) and Google will return the default 15% tip.

Phone insurance isn't an exciting topic. Android 4.3 first rolled out to American HTC Ones on the Sprint network, and it arrived for those on AT&T not long after. Well, the next rollout may surprise you. No, it's not T-Mobile or Verizon - it's C Spire Wireless, the eighth largest carrier in the US. HTC One owners throughout the Deep South (the area served by C Spire Wireless) should have received or will soon receive an OTA bumping their handset up to the latest version of Android.

After dropping the Xperia Z1 for T-Mobile on us this morning, @evleaks has revealed another upcoming Android handset headed to a US carrier near you; namely, the Galaxy S4 Mini for Verizon.

Now, I'm not entirely sure we can be 100% positive this is for Verizon, but oh wait, the home button has a not at all conspicuous Verizon logo!

Play Store On Tablets Getting Tablet-Focused Top Lists, Non-Optimized Apps Marked As 'Designed For Phones'

It has traditionally been hard to find properly optimized tablet apps on Android. At first it was simply because there weren't any, but increasingly the problem is visibility. Google is aiming to change that with some new tablet-specific tweaks to the on-device Play Store app. Not only will tablet users see more tablet apps, but they'll be able to tell which apps are designed for larger screens.

Spotify Update Introduces Sub-Genre Filtering, Extended New Releases Section, Bug Fixes, And More

The latest Spotify update isn't anything major, but it should help make it easier to navigate the vast amount of content out there and discover what new tunes you might be interested in. Clicking on the Browse section of the Spotify side navigation menu shoots you out to a grid of genres to choose from. Clicking on any of them presents suitable artists, and there's a menu at the top where you can break down the genre even further.
