Recently, Vector Unit - the team behind Riptide GP and Shine Runner - released a new game called Beach Buggy Blitz. This one is slightly different than VU's previous offerings, as it leaves the boat/hovercraft racing behind and takes to the beach for a fun, whimsical spin in a buggy.

We've been playing around with this game since its release and are pretty impressed so far. Here's a look at what you can expect from BBB.

"I know you're out there. I can feel you now. I know that you're afraid. You're afraid nothing's going to change. I don't know the future. I didn't come here to tell you what's going to be announced. I came here to tell you how it's going to be teased. I'm going to send out this invite, and then I'm going to show these people what they want to see. I'm going to show them a world without Samsung, or HTC.

When it comes to chat applications on Android, there's no shortage of options. We have Gtalk, AIM, WhatsApp, Facebook Messenger, Skype, and many, many others. Still, in a veritable sea of instant messaging options, Samsung has managed to provide a useful, unique, and feature-rich experience with ChatON.

ChatON is Samsung's way of connecting people - regardless of which platform they use - to their friends, family, and coworkers. It works across all major platforms, including Blackberry, Android (of course), iOS, Bada, and even on feature phones.

The RAZR M was certainly one of the more interesting phones Motorola announced last week, even if it did come with a disappointing definition of "edge-to-edge." Today, the phone launched on Verizon Wireless, but if you're already looking to score a discount, Wirefly has both the black and white versions available for $79.99 with a new two-year contract, or for upgrading customers.

Keep an eye out for Ron's review of the RAZR M later today.

While it's become commonplace in more civilized parts of the internet for your data to just appear on whatever device you're using (I haven't had to manually move contacts since 2008, for example), sometimes things get left behind. If you've ever felt the sting of realizing that one important file is stranded on your desktop, TeamViewer is here with a healing balm for you: file transfer.

TeamViewer for Remote Control just recently updated to allow users to transfer files both from your desktop to your mobile device, or vice versa.

Things were good back in '89. Madonna's Like a Prayer was the song of the year, Michael Keaton took Batman to a whole new level, and Price of Persia was the the gamers' game. Hard to believe that was 23 years ago.

While Madonna has seemingly fallen of the face of the earth over the past few years, Batman received new life with Christopher Nolan's The Dark Knight trilogy, and, now, Ubisoft has resurrected Prince of Persia for mobile devices.

Just one short week ago, Motorola took to the stage in New York City to talk about the DROID RAZR HD/MAXX and RAZR M. While we don't know much in terms of pricing and release information for the former, the latter just became available on Verizon's website and in all retail locations.

For those who may be unfamiliar with the RAZR M, it's the littlest brother of the RAZR line, packing similar specs to last year's cutting edge namesake in a much smaller form factor:

  • 4.3" 540x960  display with "almost no borders" and Gorilla Glass
  • 1.5GHz dual-core processor
  • 1GB RAM
  • 8GB storage, microSD card slot
  • 4G LTE connectivity
  • 8MP rear shooter
  • NFC
  • 60.9 x 122.5 x 8.3; 126g
  • 2000mAbh battery
  • Android 4.0.x

The RAZR M marks a new high for "budget" devices, as the device only costs $99 with a two-year agreement.

Wi-Fi

  • Improvements in WI-FI to allow for stronger connections in more places.

Battery

  • Optimized Battery performance and metering for longer battery life

Camera

  • The camera changes include improvements for low light performance, reduced blurriness, and better color accuracy.

Since the Chameleon beta first became available, the most requested feature has been for more widgets. The initial build only offered a handful of choices, and while they were all useful, they didn't showcase the launcher's usefulness. More recently, the team updated the application to offer even more widgets, adding a bit more value to the launcher.

Now, however, the launcher has received what I think is its biggest and most important update thus far: the launcher just hit version 0.9.0, which brings the first version of the widget API.

Yes, we're an Android site. Yes, there was an Apple event today. We're gonna talk about it. As the newly-recast Rhodey said in Iron Man 2, "It's me. I'm here. Get used to it." Because the new iPhone raises a lot of questions: Didn't I see an Android phone with [some feature] before? Is the new iPhone really the thinnest smartphone around? Why in the world would apps need to be letterboxed?
