Samsung took its time getting a Qi charger out the door, but they were finally available for purchase a few weeks ago. At $49.99 it was a reasonably good deal as far as wireless chargers go, but it didn't come with a wall charger to power the device. Now the Samsung Wireless Charging Pad includes the recommended 2A charger for $10 more, but that's not the best deal as it turns out.

C Spire has simultaneously announced and started selling the HTC One today for $199 on-contract. The Mississippi-based carrier is the eighth-place wireless company in the US, but has still managed to start offering the HTC One before Verizon.
There's nothing unexpected about the HTC One on C-Spire. It's the same phone from other carriers, but it looks like the 32GB silver version is the only option. C Spire has a smallish 4G LTE footprint mostly in Mississippi, Florida, the southern Midwest, and parts of Georgia.
Avast has been busy today. The company has released its new Mobile Backup app in Google Play, and it looks to have an okay feature set (it was previously in beta). The Mobile Security and Antivirus app also got a substantial update. Mobile Backup will grab your contacts, call log, images, videos, SMS, and more, then upload them to the cloud for safe keeping.
Today is a day to be joyful for science-minded Android users. Wolfram Alpha has just released a ton of new science and math calculation apps in Google Play. They run the gamut from basic fractions and pre-algebra all the way up to materials science and astronomy. Wolfram Alpha previously released similar calculus and algebra course assistants.
It's apparently the season for signup pages at Verizon Wireless. After seeing the Moto X and HTC One pages go up earlier this week, now it's LG's turn in the spotlight. The LG G2 now has its very own place where you can input your email address to probably not receive the "latest information," but you can always hope.
The LG G2 on Verizon looks a bit different than the international G2 we were shown at the launch event.
Update: The issue (#10230007) has been marked as resolved by the Play Store team. Apps should install and update fine now.
For the last week or so, a great number of Android users have become increasingly frustrated with frequent "Package file is invalid" errors when updating or installing apps. A variety of supposed fixes have been put forward by the community, but have proven to be merely placebos. Now Google has confirmed there is an issue.
Superheroes are good at fighting evil directly and getting the girl, but have you ever thought about the valuable and experienced support staff behind the hero? Of course you haven't, because a good middle manager is invisible – like a ghost loaded down with busy work. In Double Fine's Middle Manager of Justice, you can build and manage a team of superheroes to save the world in a roundabout way.
The game invites you to hire heroes and keep them busy around the office to increase their skills.
Update: Okay, Google clearly goofed on this one. The shipping prices have been fixed so now there is a $3.99 saver option (5-10 days), $7.99 ground (3-5 days), and two day shipping for $11.99. This thing is still expensive, but at least shipping isn't bonkers.
The new Nexus 7 seems like a pretty great device in almost every way. Despite reports of a few bugs, we're quite fond of it around here.
