Qualcomm Announces The New Qualcomm Toq With Mirasol Screen
Samsung just unveiled the much-rumored Galaxy Gear smartwatch, but that's far from the only new smartwatch about to hit wrists around the world. Qualcomm, the company best known for building the ARM chips powering most modern Android devices, has just announced the Toq smartwatch. The Toq (pronounced 'talk') will be compatible with Android 4.0.3 and higher, but does not appear to run Android itself. Unlike the Gear, Qualcomm is promising the Toq will get multiple days of battery life from a single charge thanks to its Mirasol screen.
Sidebar Plus got a bit of attention a few days ago when it was in testing on XDA, but now the app is done and live in the Play Store. This app creates a series of slide-out bars on your device that can be filled with almost anything you want, from quick settings to widgets.

ASUS gave us an early look at the Transformer Pad Infinity TF701T back at Computex, but now the device has been announced again in a bit more detail. The TF701T will be the Tegra 4-powered successor to the original Infinity. It bumps all the specs to fit nicely into the top tier of Android slates.

Update: Google pulled the video just a few minutes after the news broke. This makes it seem more likely the device in question is a Nexus. Also, a few more screens from the video have surfaced.
There are some companies that seem to really love puns. Google certainly does, but so does Amazon. Amazon's new service is called Kindle MatchBook, and it lets you buy the Kindle edition of books at a steep discount if you've bought them in physical form from Amazon at some point in the past. Sony just can't keep a lid on these QX lens camera things. After a ton of images showed up yesterday, we've now got all the specs and pricing. There's even a lovely little video that tells the tale of hipster love.
As soon as Android head Sundar Pichai tweeted the image of a KitKat-themed Android statue on the lawn at Google, it was on. The official KitKat twitter account got in on the fun, and the Android KitKat website went live with a confirmation that it was indeed going to be Android KitKat. What's more, this is not Android 5.0. This is 4.4.

After 14 years together, Verizon and Vodafone are calling it quits. Verizon will buy out Vodafone's 45% stake in Verizon Wireless to gain full control of the company. The two wireless giants have agreed to a deal valued at $130 billion, which includes $58.9 billion in cash, $60.2 billion in Verizon stock, and $11 billion in additional cash from smaller deals. This confirms rumors that began surfacing late last week.
