Google sells the 16GB Nexus 5 for $349, so on the surface this doesn't seem like an amazing deal. However, Google charges you tax and shipping. It really adds up. You're lucky to get the N5 out the door for less than $400, depending on where you live. Or you can just pay a lot less and buy it on eBay right now.

There's a cool new feature lurking in your Google search results, but you're not likely to ever come across it on your own. The next time you're looking for a recipe, try adding filters to find just the right one. You'll find it buried in the search tools.
When Google detects that you've searched for a food, the search tools menu will gain these recipe-specific filters. You can access it on mobile by tapping the "More" dropdown, then choosing "Search tools" at the bottom of the list.
There's a new tower defense game on Android seeking your eyeballs and your money. It's called Prime World: Defenders and you can play it on Android and Facebook today with full gameplay sync. Yeah, you might hate Facebook, but not everyone does.

Yesterday we brought attention to an issue with Motorola's international devices wherein the carrier ID would be displayed in the status bar all the time, making the notification area almost useless in many circumstances. Well, Motorola VP Punit Soni happened to notice the post and chimed in with an update – it turns out Motorola is rolling out a fix in 4.4.3.
The Chrome Remote Desktop app was long overdue when Google finally launched it a few weeks back, and already there's a much requested feature addition. As of the newest update, which started rolling out yesterday, the app supports immersive mode on Android 4.4.

HTC manages its Sense Android skin a bit differently than other OEMs do. It makes a big deal about the features each version includes, and actually updates old devices to the new UI, even if it takes a separate update to do it.
