Google launched Play Music back in 2011 with the option for users to upload their entire music collection for easy streaming. Play Music started with a limit of 20,000 songs, and it's stayed there ever since. Google has just announced a change, though. Play Music now allows up to 50,000 songs.

Even though Helpouts didn't last, Google is apparently committed to exploring new uses for its Hangouts chat infrastructure. For example, go search for a restaurant. You might see a new item in the info box alongside review snippets and the location. Google is testing live chat with businesses from search results. If you launch this feature, you'll be taken to a new Hangouts conversation on the web or mobile so you can ask questions or get clarification.
A recent report based on information from Edward Snowden made a startling accusation regarding the security of the SIM cards lurking in most of our phones. According to the newly leaked documents, Netherlands-based Gemalto was the target of a CIA and GSHQ (UK intelligence) plot to steal SIM card encryption keys. Gemalto is the largest maker of SIM cards in the world, so that would be a substantial security breach. Gemalto has issued a statement after completing its investigation to say that, yes, there was probably an attack. However, it does not believe any sensitive data was stolen.
You might know Steve Perlman as that guy who comes up with really interesting ideas that kind of, sort of don't work out very well. He was the man behind both WebTV and OnLive, but his newest venture has attracted the attention of Dish, which has a big pile of wireless spectrum licenses. Dish has just licensed some of its spectrum to Perlman's Artemis Networks for use in a completely new kind of wireless network, and it could soon be operating in San Francisco.
There are plenty of pre-paid MVNOs in the US, but Ting has consistently offered some of the best deals. However, it only worked on Sprint's network. If that wasn't a good fit for you, tough. The company recently started testing a GSM service on an invite-only basis, but now it's open to everyone. While it's still technically beta, you can add a GSM phone to Ting right now.

Well, look at what we have here. Noted leaker of things, @Upleaks has posted a few more images of the supposed HTC One M9, and they look like the most recent renders. Like it or not, they show a phone that's a dead ringer for the current M8.
Chainfire's screen modifying app CF.lumen has been updated to v3.0 with a few important changes, not least of which is a mode for unrooted devices. You won't get full functionality, but it's better than nothing, right? If you want to verify that, you can also get all the pro features for free now. Seriously.
Sony announced the budget-oriented Xperia E4 just a few weeks ago, and there's already a new variant of the device. The Xperia E4g has the "g" at the end because it has more Gs in its cellular radio. Yes, this version has 4G LTE instead of just 3G. There are a few other differences as well.

The significance of SoundHUD becomes apparent only when you pay ridiculously close attention to Android news. As I'm sure most of you do, this will all fit together nicely. SoundHUD picks up where the now-defunct Noyze left off to make it easier to control the volume on your device. It also adds a simple way to get silent mode (more or less) back on Lollipop.
Android 5.1 is still only available on a limited number of Android One phones, but a few interesting tweaks are already on display. One feature that seems tailor-made for Android One has to do with the dual-SIM capabilities.
