LG just released an interesting new Wear app that allows you to initiate calls on your phone from the watch UI. Does that sound like something you want? Well, you probably can't have it because LG Call is only for the new Watch Urbane. If only LG had made that more clear, the reviews would be less vitriolic.

Like it or not, CyanogenMod is one of the most popular and widely supported custom Android ROMs. With other projects you're lucky to see a handful of devices supported, but CM runs on dozens of phones and tablets. Users of those devices may soon have some new goodies to play with when the CM team releases the new Cyanogen Platform SDK, allowing app developers to integrate with various features in CyanogenMod.

Plex is a powerful media management and streaming platform, but it has always been more geared toward video. That changes today with a new version of the server software that enables an improved music experience. Music in Plex will be better for all users, but those with a Plex Pass subscription will get a few extra goodies as well.

The G4 is going to be available in the coming weeks, but maybe you don't want to spend hundreds on a new flagship phone. One from a few years ago might be good enough, especially when it's available at a steep discount. Case in point, the T-Mobile LG G2 can be yours for just $160 on eBay Daily Deals.

The Nexus Player is a tough sell at $99 when other set top boxes are more capable, but at less than $70? That's pretty appealing, and Google is sweetening the deal by offering $20 in Google Play credit if you buy through Amazon before May 3rd. Now that's a deal.[EMBED_TWITTER]https://twitter.com/googlenexus/status/593835205602881537[/EMBED_TWITTER]The Nexus Player is still listed at $99 on the Google Store, where it continues to be the only Android TV device for sale. NVIDIA and Razer are both planning more capable Android TV boxes, but they're much more spendy than this Nexus Player sale price. You're effectively getting the device for under $50.The $69.27 sale price on Amazon doesn't include a gamepad, but you do get the remote. Google sells the gamepad for $40, which is a little cheaper than Amazon.Source: Amazon, @GoogleNexus

One of the most popular dual SIM options right now is the 2nd gen Moto G, which is only available with a second SIM slot in certain markets. People in those parts of the world have reason to be excited today as the first official CyanogenMod nightly for this device is now available.

Google has been clamping down on what developers can do in the Play Store as of late, and the latest victim appears to be screen recording app SCR. Both the free and paid versions disappeared the other day, and the developer has explained on XDA that Google removed them and closed his developer account. He alleges he wasn't even given any warning before it happened.

After trying and failing to reinvent itself and move beyond the bad press, anonymous social networking app Secret is shutting down in the coming weeks. Co-founder David Byttow said in an announcement posted to Medium, "Secret does not represent the vision I had when starting the company." Rather than rethink what Secret is, they're walking away.

Google is turning app developers loose on Google Now, but search data is still finding its way into the feed in new ways as well. If you haven't already, you'll soon start to see cards that tell you when a product you've searched for goes on sale. Google previously did this with flight data, but now it seems to work with all kinds of stuff.

Google's long awaited carrier play was announced recently as Project Fi, an MVNO running on Sprint and T-Mobile that will begin as a Nexus 6 exclusive. The official Project Fi app is now live in the Play Store—not that it will do you a lot of good without an invite, which no one seems to have yet.

It's Update Wednesday, and you know what that means. Yes, time to sideload some APKs, because staged rollouts are lame. First on your to-do list is the new My Tracks update, which runners will be happy to see has a new map option. You can now see your path with an "Earth" overlay.

Samsung won't sell you an unlocked Galaxy S6 direct in North America, a situation for which you can blame the carriers. So why not do an end-run around Samsung and buy this unlocked Galaxy S6 (in white, black, or gold) on sale through eBay. The G920F has plenty of US LTE bands and the price isn't bad (going for well over $700 on Amazon).

Dell's recent Venue 8 7000 was one of the most interesting tablets from Dell in... well, ever. Now it's trying its hand at something bigger with the Venue 10 7000. Dell is pitching this as a work machine, and you can buy it today starting at $499.

A memo from OUYA CEO Julie Uhrman leaked to Fortune says the company has run out of cash and is now frantically seeking a buyer. The memo sent to investors and advisers earlier this month asks for potential buyers to express interest before the end of April, which is a tight timetable insisted upon by OUYA's creditors. This may be the end of the line for one of Kickstarter's early success stories.

LG's round watch do-over just went live in the Google Store, and it can be yours for the Apple-esque price of $350. The LG Watch Urbane looks like a smoother, more attractive G Watch R, but that'll cost you an extra $50 apparently (launch prices). It's available in a number of countries, but it won't leave the warehouse for a few days yet.

If we had presses, they would be stopped right now. Instagram has announced not one, not two, but three new filters. That means three new ways to mess up your photos! I kid, some people are really into Instagram, so any new stuff is a big deal, and new filters don't come along often.

Galaxy Note 3 owners on US Cellular have a fun treat waiting for them today—a Lollipop OTA. You can grab the update via Samsung Kies or by heading to the update menu and pulling down the OTA over WiFi.

Maybe you don't need the latest and greatest technology when it comes to your third or fourth screen, and if you can save a little money, why not? The LTE-equipped Samsung Galaxy Tab 3 is on sale right now for $99, and it's unlocked to work on T-Mobile or AT&T.

It may be coming up on 18 months old, but the LG G2 is still a capable device. At this price, though, it's a steal. You can pick up an unlocked G2 (the AT&T model) for $189.99 with free shipping.

Popular app SeriesGuide was pulled from the Play Store without warning yesterday, but it's already back today. As expected, the problem was the use of (technically) copyrighted content in the screenshots. The developers have rectified this by making the screenshots incredibly boring.
