You won't be able to stubbornly cling to the old Google+ Photos much longer (assuming people are doing that). The official Google+ account has confirmed that August 1st is the shutdown date for Google+ Photos. It won't be a huge adjustment for most users—the new Google Photos already has all your stuff stored and organized.
Asus announced a new ZenWatch several weeks ago, and now the original ZenWatch is getting a price drop, presumably to pave the way for the new version. It used to sell for $199.99, but now you can have the first-gen ZenWatch for just $129.99.

Microsoft has restricted the Cortana virtual assistant to Windows device thus far, but an official Android release is right around the corner. You don't have to wait, though. The beta Cortana app has leaked, and it appears to be fully functional. Just grab the app from APK Mirror and give it a shot.
Microsoft started a beta test for its Hyperlapse video app a while back, but today it's out of beta and ready for download. This app takes a boring video and speeds it up into a clean time lapse clip. It doesn't have a ton of settings to play with, but most of the magic is automatic.
With all the rumors and now some FCC documents to go on, it seems a foregone conclusion that Samsung will be releasing a larger version of the Galaxy S6 Edge called the S6 Edge Plus. Now there are a few leaked images that seem to show a dummy Edge Plus unit, which gives you a good idea what the real device will look like. It's sitting next to a Note 4 dummy in the pics to illustrate the increased size.
As announced earlier today, the HBO Now app is live in the Play Store for all devices. Although, when I say "all devices" I don't really mean all of them. Rooted phones and tablets aren't supported, because you're obviously a dirty pirate if you root your phone. Everyone else can get a free 30-day trial of HBO Now, though.
There are a lot of phones that don't come with microSD card slots these days, and it's not always feasible to plug stuff into the USB port. That's when the SanDisk Connect wireless flash drive comes in handy. This device is on sale via Amazon for $29.99, about $10 less than usual and half of the MSRP. That's better than most of the Prime Day "deals" from yesterday.
SanDisk has announced a new product in its Connect line of wireless storage devices, the Connect Wireless Stick. This appears to be the second generation version of the Connect Wireless Flash Drive, which has been around for about a year. This version is slimmer, has more storage, and relies on a new app.
The Plex app is getting a big update to v4.6 today, and with it comes yet another step in the app's material makeover. This update goes more than skin deep, though. There are improvements to functionality for Android TV, Chromecast, and the general app.
Aviary is one of the more popular photo editors on Android. In the past there were various effect packs available for purchase, but in the latest update Aviary has added a premium upgrade. It's a little strange, though. For $1.99 you get access to all the effects, filters, stickers, and so on, but only for 30 days.
Motorola has something to announce later this month, and it's teasing it in a bizarre fashion. According to the Moto blog, "a better mobile relationship is headed your way." Whatever romantic entanglement Motorola has planned, we'll find out on July 28th.
While Amazon's Prime Day sales have been pretty disappointing, there's always something worth checking out in the Play Store. The discounts might not be as drastic or as great in number, but they last more than 30 seconds, so you've got a shot at taking advantage.
The Galaxy S6 has been out for three months now, so it's time to revisit this phone and see if any of my feelings from the original review have evolved. At the time this seemed like a pretty fantastic phone with few drawbacks. Samsung made a lot of changes with this year's Galaxy flagship, so does it also avoid some of the long-term pitfalls of past phones? Let's find out.

Voicemails are terrible. Anyone willing to sit through the message and talk to a machine rather than send you a text message probably doesn't have good news. Android M will make the whole process a little less painful with native visual voicemail. It's just a basic implementation in the preview, and it won't work on all carriers just yet. Still, pretty cool.
That Nexus 6 deal from earlier only lasted a few seconds, but it looks like there's slightly less demand for the HTC One M9. The unlocked version of this device in gold is on sale for 4.99, which is over $100 off the regular price. It's a lightning deal, so hurry up.
This is the unlocked M9 and should work on any GSM/LTE network like AT&T or T-Mobile. As with other Prime Day deals, you need to be a Prime subscriber to get the sale price. If you're not already, there's a free trial of Prime. It's hard to go back to non-Prime, though. That's exactly what Amazon is counting on, I'm sure.The percent of stock claimed is jumping around a lot right now, but plenty of slots are apparently still left.
