One of Google's problem areas has long been the living room, and the Chrome team looks to be coming to the rescue by leveraging the huge mobile device ecosystem. The Chromecast is a new device running a simplified version of Chrome OS. It enables you to get content from your phone, tablet, or laptop to a bigger screen. This is not a Chrome OS computer in a tiny package, but rather a smaller, cheaper, more capable Nexus Q.

Galaxy on Fire 2 THD is a popular free-to-play title on Tegra devices, but it's only for Tegra. That's a bummer for the overwhelming majority of Android users. But what's this? At long last, Galaxy on Fire HD is in Google Play and it works on almost all Android devices.

You can make almost anything in Minecraft, even people. If you want to design a new block-based being while on the go, there's the new Minecraft Skin Studio for Android. This app allows you to build a person pixel by pixel and upload it to your Minecraft game.

Minecraft Skin Studio isn't made by Mojang, the company behind Minecraft, However, it has talked up this app quite a bit, and it seems to be the premiere way to design Minecraft skins.

EXYNOS-5420_1

We don't see a lot of Exynos chips shipping in Samsung phones in the US, but the rest of the world is swimming in devices running Samsung's in-house ARM chip. The Exynos 5 Octa (5410) debuted in the Galaxy S4, and now an updated version of that chip known internally as the Exynos 5420 has been officially announced.

Like the older Exynos 5 Octa chip, the 5420 has eight total cores that leverage ARM's big.LITTLE design.

Streaming music provider Rdio might be playing second fiddle to Spotify, but it's still a viable option. Rdio even runs its own video content store called Vdio. With a handy little coupon code, you can get a taste of both services, or add some freebies you your existing account.

XrMtK87

To get your free stuff, just head over to the Rdio redeem page, and enter the code P4KFEST2013. This should give you 3 free months of Rdio Unlimited ($9.99 per month) and $25 to spend on Vdio instantly.
