HTC has just announced its latest flagship, the HTC 10. This phone is seen by many as the company's last chance to get back on track. It's not off to an amazing start, though. AT&T, a long time partner of HTC, won't be carrying the HTC 10. That has to sting. It's only going to be sold directly by Sprint, Verizon, and T-Mobile.
The Twitter app has gone through many, many incarnations. Not only have there been plenty of official redesigns, Twitter often tests UI tweaks using server-side switches. That's the case now as a new, more material interface appears to be rolling out to users (see above). It has tabs, a proper nav menu, and even a floating action button (FAB).
Roku has a new streaming stick launching in a few weeks, and one of the features announced for it is private listening via your Android device. The problem: the app needed an update to do that. Now that update (v3.5) is live in the Play Store.
It was almost a year ago that Google posted the session list for I/O 2015 with an interesting "voice access" talk. That was eventually removed from the schedule and we didn't hear anything about it in Android M. Now, Google has announced Voice Actions as a beta in the Play Store (Android 5.0 and higher). Once you join up, you can install the app and literally control your entire phone by voice. It's incredibly cool.
I've made Fenix my go-to Twitter client for a rather long time, and I'm not alone in that. That's the only app developer mvilla has released... until now. The second app from this dev is a feed reader with support for both Feedly and Inoreader. It has a very clean, minimalist design, and you can give it a shot for free.
HTC is going to get up on stage tomorrow to announce the HTC 10 knowing that we've all seen it from every possible angle. It must be weird to have a phone so thoroughly leaked before announcement, but it's not over yet. There's another leak, this time an official promo video.
Marshmallow has been out for about six months now, and there are still some very recent phones that don't have the update. For example, the T-Mobile Galaxy S6 and S6 Edge... until today. These devices are finally getting the Marshmallow OTA. Sprint and Verizon both rolled their GS6 updates out recently, leaving AT&T as the sole holdout.
