Samsung Galaxy S Strikes Again - Now Available At Three UK

Just in case you thought the Samsung Galaxy S would stop its myriad of launches around the world – the Super AMOLED phone has just become available at Three UK under three different pricing plans.

The three price plans are £35, £38, and £40 a month for two years, with the highest plan (called “The One Plan”) giving you 2000 calling minutes, 5000 texts, and 1 GB of data – something users in the US aren’t really familiar with (Verizon, Sprint, and T-Mobile all having unlimited data, and AT&T having a max of 2 GB.)

T-Mobile’s First HSPA+ Phone May Be The myTouch 3G HD

T-Mobile certainly dropped a big hint when the word “Vanguard,” believed to be the codename for the HTC Vision, was discovered all over the source code of their HSPA+ phone teaser page. But, according to a leak from Android Central, this phone might not be the slider we’ve seen before – it could be the next model in the myTouch line.

Called the myTouch 3G HD, the phone appears to have the same button layout as the myTouch 3G Slide, including the Genius Button and trackpad. The screen size can’t be determined, but certainly looks like more than T-Mobile’s previous myTouch offerings.

Samsung Brings High-End To The Small Screen - Galaxy Q Specs Leaked

Samsung is certainly on a roll with their Android devices – their Galaxy S and all of its variants have launched successfully all over the world, with more launches still to come. But that hasn’t stopped them from planning their next Android device, one that may attempt to sway Blackberry users to Android.

According to a spec sheet leaked by MobileCrunch, the Samsung Galaxy Q is a very high-end phone, with the small screen size of only 3.0” being the odd spec out. Combined with the listed “QWERTY Keypad,” it makes sense that this phone will take the same style as the Motorola Charm, which also emulates the Blackberry phone style.

E-Reading On Android Just Got Better – Nook For Android Now Available

Barnes & Noble has already shown great interest in the Android platform by choosing it to run on their own e-reader, and this relationship continues to grow. B&N has just released Nook For Android, a full-featured app that includes access to their e-book store.

With plenty of e-reader applications on the Market already (including Nook’s main rival, Kindle) this may seem like overkill. However, the LendMe feature, which allows users to lend their e-books to friends for short periods of time, may be enough for some to make the switch. Check out all the features below.

Samsung Galaxy S Continues World Takeover, Headed To Rogers

The Samsung Galaxy S has already invaded Canada by launching on Bell, but Samsung wasn’t content with just one carrier. Rogers Wireless has been confirmed to be receiving its own version of the Galaxy S, set for release some time this September.

There’s no word as to what version of the Galaxy S will hit Rogers, as there are a plenty of variations, some with LED Flash, some with a front-facing camera, and the Galaxy S Pro, which includes a physical keyboard. No matter the version, it will still include the usual TouchWiz UI, 4” Super AMOLED screen, and 1 GHz Hummingbird processor.

LG Ally Update On Verizon Brings Numerous Improvements, But No Froyo

Although no one expected the LG Ally to be the next phone to receive a push to Android 2.2, the announcement of an Ally update really got our hopes up. Still, it’s better than nothing. So, what changes does this update bring Ally users? Check them out below, straight from Verizon’s support page:

Power Of Adobe Air Demonstrated With Video Calling On Android

Adobe has given us a nice taste of what Air is capable of. Using the upcoming version 2.5, Adobe developer Mark Doherty created a demo of video calling on Android on two Nexus Ones, which he cleverly called “FlashTime” (a not-so-subtle jab at Apple’s FaceTime.)

Doherty tells us that Air 2.5 adds support for many features, including use of cameras and microphones on a device, and that the Android version is on par feature-wise with its desktop equivalent; however, though these features are “working,” he also tells us that they may not make it into the final release of Air.

As for the video calling itself, it is not an Adobe product and will never be released as such.

Lenovo Plans Android Tablet To Compete With iPad In China

Lenovo has a strong name in China, and hasn’t faced much competition from Apple there. In fact, they’ve even mocked Apple about “wasting” their presence in the enormous market. However, as the iPad is set for release in Hong Kong this Friday – and is expected to be fully available in China soon – Lenovo plans on stepping up their game and challenging Apple with an Android tablet.

Other than the fact the tablet (the “LePad”) will run Android, no real specs have been revealed. However, it was confirmed that the tablet would launch exclusively in China at first, and good sales could prompt releases in other markets.

Motorola's Rugged i1 Brings Push-To-Talk And Resistance To Mother Nature To Android, Available On Sprint July 25th

Sprint has just announced it will begin shipping the Motorola i1, the first push-to-talk Android phone, from their online store and telesales starting July 25, and from all other channels on August 8.
