I've found the best skateboarding game on Android and you have to try it

The Ramp is an absolute joy, don't miss out

Paul Schnepf is the person behind the indie skateboarding game The Ramp, otherwise known as the developer Hyperparadise. This developer released the game on PC in August, and over the last three months, The Ramp has received a lot of praise, and for a good reason, it's a chill game with spot-on physics where you can pull off some nifty tricks with the flick of your thumb. The mobile port has officially launched today, and you can trial the first stage for free. If you like what you see, you can pay $3 to unlock the rest of the game's content. There's no high score, no leaderboard, no missions, no bosses, this is a game solely about having fun, and it succeeds in this endeavor.

Football Manager 2022 Mobile release
Football Manager 2022 Mobile launches with a fresh set of mechanics to jump into matches faster

Though it looks like the Touch version is now a dedicated Nintendo Switch release

By

It's that time of year again. Sega has just launched its latest entry in its Football Manager simulation franchise, with Football Manager 2022 Mobile now available on the Google Play Store. Typically the Mobile version would launch with a separate streamlined Touch version on mobile, but it would appear that Football Manager 2022 Touch will only be available on the Nintendo Switch moving forward, which means the Touch version will no longer see a mobile release. Luckily Football Manager 2022 Mobile supports Chromebooks and Android tablets, alleviating any concerns that those with large screens would be left out. So if you've been eager to start your new season, as of this morning, you can grab Football Manager 2022 Mobile for $9.99 on both Android and iOS.

Welcome to Monday, everyone. It's been a busy weekend, and so I have a large list of sales today, including a few standouts. First up is Neverwinter Nights: Enhanced Edition, a classic CRPG that's still a fan-favorite. Next I have The Quest, another classic RPG, but this one plays out in first person instead of birdseye. Last but not least is Braveland, a popular turn-based strategy game. As always, I've highlighted all of the interesting titles in bold in order to make discovery easier. So without further ado, here are 25 temporarily free and 51 on-sale apps and games for the beginning of the week.

Welcome to the roundup of the best new Android games that went live in the Play Store or were spotted by us in the previous week or so. Today's list is broken up into several segments, ranging from best, average, to mediocre. So whether you're looking for the best games of quality or are simply looking for the latest free-to-play gacha titles, you're covered. This week I have a slick puzzle-based planting game, a fantastic pixel-based Metroidvania, and the latest mobile Tales RPG from Bandai Namco. So without further ado, here are the new and notable Android games released during the last week.

Tales of Luminaria release hero

This past September, Tales of Arise landed on PC and consoles, reinvigorating interest in Bandai Namco's long-running action RPG series. So, of course, a mobile game has been released to capitalize on this success. That game is Tales of Luminaria, officially launched today. Unlike the core Tales games that exist as premium experiences, Tales of Luminaria is a free-to-play gacha RPG that doesn't deviate much from Bandai's other F2P anime games. The graphics are superb, but the controls stink, the UI is atrocious, and the performance is fairly lackluster thanks to endless loading screens. So far, Play Store reviews are relatively low for a new gacha release, but it would seem these low scores are deserved.

Next, I have Hidden Folks, a slick and stylish black and white hidden object game. Last but not least is Vectronom, a challenging jumping block game that offers exceptional music. As always, I've highlighted all of the interesting titles in bold in order to make discovery easier. So without further ado, here are 27 temporarily free and 17 on-sale apps and games for the end of the week.

Notifications feeling sluggish? This popular Android game may be to blame

Who needs reliable notifications on their phones?

Last week Niantic announced the global rollout for Pikmin Bloom, a new augmented reality game that functions much like a souped-up step counter complemented by Nintendo's adorable Pikmin graphics. Well, it would appear things aren't so rosy a week from launch now that many users are experiencing delayed notifications. A bug report that called out this issue was initially filed around Bloom's launch. Thankfully this bug report is finally gaining some traction now that many more reports are spreading across the web complaining about similar notification problems. Niantic support has at least confirmed it is looking into the bug, though there's still no confirmation whether or not this is a problem for everyone who has the game installed or simply a select few.

Welcome to Wednesday, everyone. Things have calmed down after a wild weekend of game sales, but I still have some awesome sales to share with everyone, including a few standouts. First up is KWGT Kustom Widget Pro Key, an unlock app for a popular widget creation app KWGT Kustom Widget Maker. Next, I have Mathematiqa, a puzzle and riddle game that's amassed over 100K installs. Last but not least is LayerPaint HD, a lesser-known drawing app that offers a boatload of features and a reliable developer. As always, I've highlighted all of the interesting titles in bold in order to make discovery easier. So without further ado, here are 13 temporarily free and 30 on-sale apps and games for the middle of the week.

Surprise surprise, Gamevil's ploy to create a CSR Racing clone with the Project CARS brand hasn't worked out. Seven months after the initial release, Gamevil and Slightly Mad Studios have announced that their one-touch racer Project CARS GO isn't long for this world. As of yesterday, the Play Store listing can no longer be downloaded, though those that still have the game installed will be able to play until November 30th, when the servers will be shut down. All in-app purchases are already disabled, and those still holding in-game currency have an opportunity to spend it before the 30th, and if you're still holding this currency when the doors shutter, you will have an opportunity to receive a return.

Yesterday was Halloween, and that means there's a boatload of apps and games on sale today, and seeing that Friday's list was just as plump, make sure you don't miss out on those sales either. Of course, I have some awesome standouts today. First up is The Room: Old Sins, an escape room game that holds a 4.9-star rating for a reason; it's great. Next, I have The House of Da Vinci, another escape room game, and it holds its own against The Room series. Last but not least is Atom RPG, a classic style RPG often compared to the first Fallout games. As always, I've highlighted all of the interesting titles in bold in order to make discovery easier. Welcome to Friday, everyone. This weekend is Halloween, and so a boatload of developers have placed their apps and games on sale in preparation for the holiday weekend. This means I have a ton of sales to share with everyone, including some awesome standouts. First up is Machinarium, the most popular adventure game from Amanita Design. Next, I have Slayaway Camp, a slick Sokoban-like puzzler that offers an awesome '80s slasher theme. Last but not least is Pascal's Wager, a dark fantasy action RPG that's perfect for Halloween weekend. GeForce_NOW 3080 hero
You can now pre-order the biggest GeForce Now improvement in years

Before today only Founders and Priority members could pre-order

By

GeForce NOW is Nvidia's game streaming service, and starting today, the company is rolling out pre-orders for a new membership tier for Founders and Priority members. This new tier is called the GeForce NOW RTX 3080 membership, and as you can guess, Nvidia is using custom RTX 3080s as the backend for this tier. Six months will run you $99.99, with availability rolling out for the US in November and the EU in December. Subscribers can expect 1440p support at a max of 120FPS (this is the important bit since a high framerate should lower latency), and 4K HDR support is coming exclusively to the Shield TV.

Pikmin Bloom launch announcement hero

Back in March, we learned that Nintendo had teamed up with Niantic to create a new augmented reality game for mobile, Niantic's bread and butter. Pikmin was chosen as the skin for this Niantic game (though there was no offical title at the time), and at the end of March the first public test was launched in Singapore. This AR game is now known as Pikmin Bloom, and its global release has already started rolling out in Australia and Singapore, with a wider rollout planned for the coming days. Despite the fact those of us in the West still can't play, it's clear that Pikmin Bloom's design revolves around the act of walking (much like a step counter) in order to grow Pikmin by making flowers bloom as you walk. In classic Niantic fashion, the company has created a free-to-play game with in-app purchases that range up to $99.99 per item, all without ever describing what these purchases are for.

Last but not least is SPHAZE, a beautiful puzzler where you'll rotate scenery to solve each puzzle. As always, I've highlighted all of the interesting titles in bold in order to make discovery easier. So without further ado, here are 13 temporarily free and 29 on-sale apps and games for the middle of the week.

A complete overhaul of the 2016 point and click detective game Kathy Rain

By

Raw Fury has been on a roll with the recent release of its excellent sandbox city builder Townscaper, and today marks the launch of Kathy Rain: Director's Cut. This is a reimagining of the original point and click adventure from 2016, and it offers performance improvements along with additional features. At its core, Kathy Rain is a detective story where you'll hunt down clues surrounding your grandfather's mysterious death. You'll solve puzzles to advance this story as you dig through a mysterious town's secrets. The game was a delight in 2016, and now that it's updated for play on modern devices, it's that much more enthralling, perfect for a Halloween playthrough.
